Eight Million Stories

Eight Million Stories Young people, especially young men of color, are disappearing—from schools, from communities, from the workforce.

Fueled by zero tolerance policies and in-school policing, the school-to-prison pipeline is sweeping disproportionately high numbers of youth into the criminal justice system. For many, it is the start of a lifelong cycle of poverty and imprisonment: Juvenile offenders who lack support and employment prospects upon release often struggle to re-enter society and face a high risk of recidivism.

We believe that when young people are given the right exposure early, it does more than spark curiosity. It unlocks confidence, expands vision, and changes the direction of their lives.
That’s why Eight Million Stories is proud to partner with ToolFest Houston and the Texas Family Wellbeing Initiative (TFWI) to create an unforgettable day of hands-on learning, career exploration, and inspiration for students across the city of Houston!

· Attendees will discover real careers in skilled trades
· Build confidence through hands-on experiences
· Connect with mentors and industry leaders
· See a future they may have never imagined
