We need YOUR help to make sure every child in our community has the tools they need to create, learn, and thrive. 🎨✏️🎒

HOW TO HELP:
1️⃣ Drop off: Bring items to our main office (3517 Irvington Blvd, 3rd Floor, Houston) Mon-Fri, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM. Please label donations "Camp" or "Back to School".

Avenue invites you to be part of an exciting effort to mobilize voters in Houston’s Greater Northside for the 2026 Midterm Elections. This is your chance to make a real impact by connecting with neighbors and helping ensure every voice is heard.

What you’ll do:
🚶‍♂️ Canvass door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods
🤝 Work in pairs using provided routes
📍 Start each shift from a local hub in Greater Northside

Campaign Details:
🗓️ May 25 – June 21 (includes training week)
💻 Attend one required 2-hour Zoom training (May 27 or May 28)
⏱️ 2.5-hour shifts (commit to at least 3)
💵 Receive $50 per shift + $40 for training

✅ Participants must speak English or be bilingual in English and Spanish

Avenue CEO Mary Lawler and Board President Daniel Ortiz recently attended the National NeighborWorks Association Hill Day in Washington, DC!

They had the opportunity to connect with elected officials, including Lizzie Fletcher and Tammy P. from the office of Sylvia R. Garcia.

Mary and Daniel participated in meaningful discussions around affordable housing policy and funding.

As we continue to be a leading presence in the affordable housing space, these types of events are important for building and maintaining relationships with elected officials and ensuring our leadership stays informed and equipped to navigate the current political landscape impacting our local projects and communities.
