Congratulations to Mrs.Wedeking and our students at QHS.

Quitman Independent School District is pleased to announce Ashley Wedeking as High School Assistant Principal for the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Wedeking brings 14 years of experience in education and is beginning her ninth year serving the students, staff, and families of Quitman ISD.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Wedeking has been committed to building strong relationships, supporting student success, and creating a positive school culture. Her dedication to students and passion for education have made a lasting impact on the Quitman community, and she looks forward to continuing that work in her new leadership role at Quitman High School.

Mrs. Wedeking and her husband, Dustin, have been married for 19 years and are proud parents of five children: Cannin, Hudson, Finley, Parker, and Sawyer Kate. Outside of school, much of her time is spent attending her children's dance performances, livestock events, and sporting activities. She also enjoys serving at her church, spending time outdoors, and traveling.

“I am truly excited to step into the role of Assistant Principal at QHS,” Wedeking said. “With 14 years in education and eight years here at Quitman ISD, I give thanks to God for each step of this journey and the chance to keep serving a community I hold close to my heart. I look forward to leading with heart, building relationships, and cheering on every student’s success.”

We are confident that Mrs. Wedeking’s experience, leadership, and commitment to students will continue to positively impact Quitman High School and Quitman ISD.

Please join us in congratulating her on this well-earned role!

On behalf of the Quitman ISD Education Foundation, thank you to the QISD Board of Trustees and staff for your continued support and for allowing the Foundation to work alongside our campuses throughout the school year to fundraise and support our teachers and students. We truly value this partnership. We would also like to recognize and congratulate Connie Simon, 6th–8th Grade Special Education Teacher at Quitman Junior High School, who was selected as a Gold Prize Winner through HilltopSecurities’ fifth annual Hilltop Hunt. Connie, thank you for choosing the Quitman ISD Education Fund as the recipient of the $10,000 donation made in your honor to the Quitman Lake Country Charitable Foundation. Your support and dedication to our students and schools are deeply appreciated.

This year, teacher requests totaled approximately $8,000, and because of this generous donation, we are proud to share that we will be able to fulfill every teacher request for the year, directly impacting
classrooms across the district.

A special thank you to everyone who volunteers, supports the Foundation, and gives back so generously to our teachers and students. I would also like to recognize Emily Strong, who has played
a major role in the Foundation’s success and has spent countless hours behind the scenes helping organize, order, and deliver these teacher requests.

The Foundation continues to work on new fundraising ideas, and we look forward to what the future has in store.

It’s a great to be a Bulldog.

Thank you all again on behalf of the Education Foundation.
