🎙️ We’re on Around H-Town! ❤️

We had the opportunity to join KRBE 104.1’s Around H-Town to talk about AVANCE-Houston’s Quality Child Care Matters (QCCM) Program and how we’re supporting family child care providers across the Houston community!

Through training, resources, and professional development opportunities, QCCM helps providers strengthen the quality of care and early childhood education they offer to children and families.

We’re excited to share more about this important program and the impact it’s making in our community!

Before Literacy Month comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the power of reading, learning and sharing stories together. 📚❤️

This month, we’re highlighting Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle a colorful, engaging story that helps young children build language skills, recognize colors and animals, and develop a love for books through repetition and participation.

At AVANCE-Houston, we believe parents are their child’s first teachers, and home is the first classroom. Even a few minutes of reading together can create meaningful opportunities to learn, connect and grow.

Read it. Talk about it. Ask questions. Let your child tell the story back to you. Every page is an opportunity to learn together. đź’™
Keep reading. Keep learning. Keep growing—together.

For many parents, going back to school can feel exciting and intimidating at the same time. Sometimes the biggest barrier is simply not knowing what the college experience will look like or where to begin. 🎓

Through AVANCE to College, AVANCE-Houston is helping parents become more comfortable with higher education and see themselves in spaces they may not have imagined before.

Our partnership with Houston City College Southeast Campus gives participants the opportunity to become familiar with a college environment while exploring what continuing their education could mean for themselves and their families.

If you could go back to school, what would you want to study? Maybe there’s a dream, career path, or goal you’ve been thinking about for years.
