We loved being part of Mid Main's First Thursdays Block Party and celebrating the incredible talent of Houston ISD students!

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed an incredible showcase of student artwork and live performances, highlighting the creativity and talent of students from across the district.

A special thank you to the Houston ISD Fine Arts Department for bringing it all together, and to all of the student artists and performers who shared their talents with the community. We’re also so grateful to everyone who joined us and made a donation in support of Houston ISD students and educators.

And thank you to Mid Main Houston for hosting us and giving our students such a wonderful opportunity to shine!

A partnership that’s been with us from the very beginning!

A special thank you to Satterfield & Pontikes Construction for joining us as a Silver Sponsor of the Houston ISD Foundation’s 20th Annual Golf Tournament. We’re still reflecting on a truly special evening and feeling incredibly grateful for the friends, supporters, and champions who make the work of the Houston ISD Foundation possible.

Thank you, especially, to Michelle Cruz Arnold and John Arnold for opening their home and bringing our community together for an evening centered on gratitude, possibility, and the students and educators at the heart of our work.

One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was hearing directly from HISD alumni Juan Venancio, Simon Kiang-Hinojosa, and Clymond Hill. Their stories offered a powerful reminder that the impact of an investment in a student can extend far beyond the classroom and long after graduation.

Their journeys reflect what is possible when students have access to the opportunities, resources, and support they need to thrive and why our collective investment in HISD matters so deeply.

We left the evening reminded of what happens when a community comes together around what’s possible for Houston’s students. Thank you for being part of that community and for believing in what HISD students can become.

Please join us in welcoming Michelle Cruz Arnold, the newest member of the Houston ISD Foundation Board of Directors!

Michelle is the Founder and Principal of Contour Place Advisors, bringing extensive experience in education, strategy, and community leadership. She spent 15 years with the College Board and recently served on the Houston ISD Board of Managers. As a proud HISD parent, Michelle also brings a personal connection to the students, families, and communities we serve.

We are thrilled to welcome Michelle to the Houston ISD Foundation Board and look forward to the experience, perspective, and passion she will bring to our work supporting students and educators across the district.

This year, the Houston ISD Foundation is proud to invest nearly $100,000 in 12 innovative programs and projects that will expand opportunities for students and educators across Houston ISD.

Throughout the month of September, we'll be highlighting grantee’s projects and the incredible work happening in schools across the district. We hope you'll follow along as we celebrate the educators and leaders bringing these ideas to life.

Today, we're featuring four projects that are preparing students for the future through hands-on learning, career exploration, and innovation:

Madison High School – The Tiny Home Project

Milby High School – PEER: Program Ensuring Entrepreneurial Readiness (A SURE Program)

Wisdom High School – The Precision Operator Program: Site Preparation & Heavy Equipment Certification
