HARRIS COUNTY — ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Community resources should never feel like a quid pro quo. The people who need support shouldn’t have to navigate politics, favors, or conditions to access the resources that help their families and communities thrive.
It’s time to ask a bigger question: What are we investing public dollars in and who truly benefits?
Our communities deserve investments in people, housing, mental health, youth, opportunity, stability, and the resources that address the root causes of harm.
Safety isn’t created by punishment alone. Safety is built when people have what they need to thrive.
Public dollars should serve the public.
Invest in the people. Invest in our communities. Invest in what makes us truly safe.

🗳️ Every Vote Starts With Registration!
On Sunday, Pure Justice was at St. John’s Downtown helping community members register to vote and check their voter registration status ahead of the November 2026 Election.
The registration deadline was Monday, October 5, and we’re proud to have been out in the community making sure voters had the information and tools they needed to make their voices heard.

Major Win For The Community!!

“A federal judge on Monday denied a request by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and four Harris County Criminal Court-at-Law judges to vacate a landmark settlement on misdemeanor bail reform in the county.

U.S. District Judge Lee H. Rosenthal’s ruling preserves the 2019 ODonnell consent decree, which allows most people facing misdemeanor charges in the state’s most populous county to be released from jail prior to trial without having to pay cash bail.”

The policy dates to a 2019 settlement after the county’s cash bail system was found to exacerbate poverty while not “meaningfully” promoting public safety.
