Free pizza, protest and environmental policies @ Axelrad’s – Houston Sierra Club.

Hi, I’m Arjumand Mubaarak, with the Houston Sierra Club …. Are you hungry for change?

Then join the Houston Sierra Club, tomorrow, Thursday, October 8th, for Pizza, Protest & Policy at Axelrad B**r Garden!

From 5:00 to 7:30 PM, we're bringing together free pizza, environmental activism, a little art, and a whole lot of fun.

There will be 3 contests, the best T-shirt, Costume & Poster.

Wear your favorite protest T-shirt and enter our Protest T-Shirt Contest!

Or, style and profile an environmental costume for the Costume Contest! Frog, alligator, dinosaur, bee, etc.

Feeling artistic? Test your inner Picasso, Renoir, or Monet in our Poster-Making Contest.

We'll supply the art materials — you supply the creativity!

Three chances to win!

And we've got two speakers tackling two big questions:
1. Why does it feel like summer in the fall? … And...
2. Why should we keep Big Sean, Big Pun, Big Moe, Big Kenny, Big Daddy Kane — and Big Bend … that is, Big Bend National Park — WILD?

So, tomorrow, bring your hunger, wear your favorite protest shirt, don a costume, bring your creative spirit, you'll learn a little and come ready to have fun and make a lot of noise for the environment!

See you at Axelrad's!

BREAKING: Today, a federal judge issued an emergency injunction BLOCKING border barrier and road construction across the Big Bend region. The Trump Administration had lifted a temporary pause on construction in Big Bend National Park earlier this week.

This victory is the result of months of organizing and bipartisan support for an end to the destruction. Thousands of people in Texas and across the nation told our leaders to put a stop to bulldozing in Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and surrounding lands.

We are grateful to the Center for Biological Diversity, Friends of the Ruidosa Church, and a Big Bend-area river guide and landowner who led the lawsuit that resulted in this victory. Sierra Club, our Lone Star Chapter, and National Parks Conservation Association backed them in court, represented by Earthjustice. And many other partners, community members, and allies have also joined the fight.

Join us in demanding a PERMANENT halt to border destruction in the Big Bend region.
