Healing was never meant to be a solo journey. 💙

We live in a world that often tells us to be strong, to keep going, to handle things on our own. But the truth is, some weights are too heavy for one pair of shoulders. Some wounds need more than time, they need connection, understanding, and someone who simply says, "I'm here."

Healing begins when we stop healing alone.

When we let someone in. When we share the burden. When we admit that we don't have to have it all figured out. That's when the real work starts. That's when hope finds its way back in.

To every survivor carrying a silent weight: you don't have to carry it by yourself anymore. We're here.

Reach out. Let someone in. Healing is waiting for you, together. 💙

June is National Cancer Survivor Month. 🎗️💙

This month, we pause to honor something extraordinary: the human spirit's ability to endure, to fight, and to keep going even when the odds feel impossible.

To every survivor:
You are not defined by your diagnosis. You are defined by your courage, your resilience, and the beautiful, unbreakable light you carry within. Some days you soar. Some days you simply survive. Both are worthy of celebration.

This month, we see you. We honor you. We celebrate YOU.

Whether your journey began years ago or ended treatment last week, whether you're thriving or still fighting, you are a survivor. And you are never alone.

Tag a survivor who inspires you. Let's fill this month with love. 💙

Let's clear this one up for good. 🧴❌

Myth: Using antiperspirant or deodorant, especially those containing aluminum, causes breast cancer.

Fact: Multiple large-scale studies have found no scientific evidence linking antiperspirant or deodorant use to breast cancer. The American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute both confirm there is no credible research supporting this claim.

Where did this myth come from?
The theory suggested that aluminum compounds could be absorbed through underarm skin or enter the body through shaving nicks, potentially affecting estrogen receptors. But study after study has found no increased risk, even among women who use these products daily.

What actually increases breast cancer risk?

Genetics and family history
Age
Hormone exposure
Lifestyle factors (alcohol, obesity)
Your deodorant is not the enemy. Misinformation is.
Share this to stop the spread of fear. 💙

A smile doesn't always come easy when you're walking through cancer. 💙

Some days, it feels like the weight of the world is sitting on your chest. Some days, laughter feels like a distant memory. And then someone shows up, with a kind word, a helping hand, or simply a reminder that you are not alone.

That someone could be you.

Your donation to Alira Foundation becomes that moment of light in a survivor's dark day. It becomes a wellness kit. A support group. A reason to believe that tomorrow might feel a little brighter.

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month 💙💛

Bladder cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, yet it doesn't receive the attention it deserves. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people are diagnosed, and it has one of the highest recurrence rates of any cancer.

Know the signs:

Blood in the urine (often painless)

Frequent or painful urination

Pelvic or back pain

Feeling the need to go but nothing comes out

The good news: When caught early, bladder cancer is highly treatable. But too many cases are diagnosed at later stages because symptoms are ignored or mistaken for something less serious.

To every warrior fighting this battle, every survivor living in fear of recurrence, and every family standing strong: we see you. You are not alone. 💙

Australia's Race to Become the First Country to Eliminate Cervical Cancer 🇦🇺💙

Behind the statistics is a heartbreaking story. Chrissy Walters was diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer at 39, just six months after giving birth to her daughter. Today, her diagnosis is terminal. Her daughter has grown up knowing her mother may not be there for her future.

But there is hope, and Australia is leading the way.

How Australia is making history:

In 2006, Australian scientists developed Gardasil, the world's first HPV vaccine

Australia was the first country to launch a national HPV vaccination program

The program now vaccinates both boys and girls (boys can carry the virus)

In 2017, Australia switched to more sensitive HPV-based screening every 5 years

Self-collection options have made screening more accessible

The results are stunning:

Cervical cancer rates have halved since 1982

For the first time in 2021, zero cases were diagnosed in women under 25

Australia is on track to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem by 2035

The challenge ahead:

Vaccination rates have slightly declined, especially among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, who face double the cancer rates and triple the mortality. Global funding cuts for HPV vaccines in low-income countries also threaten worldwide progress.

The bottom line: A race is underway. Sweden and Rwanda aim for 2027. The UK targets 2040. But Australia—the country that invented the HPV vaccine—could be first.

As Professor Karen Canfell says: "This is the first time the WHO has said we are going to eliminate a cancer. That is a new concept for cancer."

Let's finish what we started. Vaccinate. Screen. Eliminate. 💙

Throwing it back to a day that felt like pure magic. ✨ to Makeover Day, where survivors walked in carrying invisible weights and walked out carrying only smiles. No magic wands, just love, community, and the simple power of being seen.

These are the moments that remind us why we show up.
