We have two new dogs to introduce to you!

On the left is BOBBY, and on the right is MOOSE

Bobby is a 1 year old husky mix. His foster describes him as goofy, clumsy and a bit floppy. He’s a friendly, curious and playful boy, and likes to be close to his person

Goose is a 15 week old plot hound mix. His foster says he’s already potty trained, very calm for a puppy and loves to cuddle.

Time to tell you about some of our recent(ish) adoptions!

Sometimes we get so caught up trying to find fosters and forever homes for the dogs who still need us that we forget to share the best part…the happy endings!

Dog rescue can feel like a lot of sadness and heartbreak sometimes, which makes it even more important to stop and celebrate the wins. Plus, we know you see these pups on our page, follow their stories and probably wonder, “Whatever happened to that dog?!”

Well… here are a few answers.

One of our volunteers was walking their dogs last night when they saw a car pull over, kick this puppy out and drive away. There is never any excuse for doing this, especially to a little puppy who has no idea how to survive on the streets.

He’s safe now, but he has nowhere to go. We need a foster!!!

If you can’t foster, we are asking for two favours.

Archie has already been through enough.

When we rescued him, he was skinny, neglected and in terrible shape. Since then, he’s transformed into the happy, healthy, handsome boy you see today.

Last week, we thought his story was about to get even better. Archie had adopters lined up and was supposed to meet them. Then, just two days before, they stopped responding completely.

So Archie is still waiting.

He doesn’t know he was ghosted. He doesn’t know how close he came to having a home. He just knows he’s safe, loved, and still waiting for his person to show up.

Maybe this time, they will.

Bessie may not have been blessed in the looks department, but if you ask me, looks should be the last consideration when it comes to adopting a dog.

Is she friendly? YES
Is she well behaved? YES
Does she like other dogs? YES
Is she good with children? YES
Is she healthy? YES
Would you ever have any regrets if you decided to adopt her and make her a part of your family for years to come? NO

Give Bessie a chance. Once she’s yours she’ll be the most beautiful dog you’ve ever laid your eyes on.

It’s been a GREAT week for Love and Rescue! 🧡🐾

Buddy, Sky, Lenny and Jill have ALL received adoption applications! 🎉

It’s still early days, and an application doesn’t necessarily mean an adoption will happen, but after watching these dogs wait for someone to choose them, it’s definitely something worth celebrating.

But while we’re celebrating them, Bessie, Mochi, Archie, Zoe, Jack and Jenny Lewis are still waiting. 🥺

Their applications could be next. Their people could be seeing this post right now.

We have another Corgi!! Not just any old Corgi, a New York City Corgi!!

Her name was Fiora, but more recently has been called Fifi, and also answers to Tater tot!

Fiora was an Amish breeding dog who lived in a barn and was cast aside once she stopped being able to produce litters. But Fifi is a quirky little house dog that loves to run around her yard with her foster siblings.

As with most Corgi’s, Fifi has her quirks. But hers can mostly be explained by her tough start in life. When her fosters first got her she was a nervous wreck who wouldn’t even eat because the sound of the kibble hitting her bowl used to terrify her. She’s a lot better now, but will still only go outside if one of the other dogs goes out first, and will only come back inside if you don’t make eye contact with her 😂

She’s 20lbs, 3 year old, would love to be in a house with another dog, but probably not with young children who would scare her.

This baby is only available for adoption in New York, so please share her post and help us get her seen up there!

FOSTER PLEA!

One of our volunteers has come across a litter of nine puppies that need our help. We have room to take a few of them in, IF we can find fosters!

They’re 13-week-old Lab/Beagle mixes, and honestly, that’s about all we know right now. Just nine ridiculously cute little teddy bear looking puppies who need somewhere safe to land.

Whether you’re one of our regular fosters, have temp fostered for us before, or have been thinking about getting involved, please get in touch!

If we can find the fosters, we can do what we do best and get these babies on their way to finding homes. ❤️

We’re having an Adoption Day this Saturday, 08/22, and we still need 3 volunteers!

We’ll be at the Bunker Hill PetSmart from 10 AM–3 PM, with two volunteer shifts available:

10:00 AM–12:30 PM
12:30 PM–3:00 PM

If you can help with either shift, please send us a message. Even a couple of hours makes a huge difference and helps us give our dogs the best chance of finding their forever homes.

We can’t do it without you!
