Philanthrartist

Philanthrartist We are a non-profit organization, and all the funds that we make during the year are distributed amo We are artists and philanthropists.

We are changing the world one cause at a time! We are a non-profit organization dedicated to integrate the work of the artists we collaborate with, and the philanthropic causes that they promote; as well as raise funds through the selling of art related goods and products, in order to benefit causes that we feel strongly about:
Local level: we care for the homeless in our city, and we decided to

channel our efforts donating 20% of the funds we raise in 2017, through "Houston Coalition for the Homeless" (homelesshouston.org).
National level: we care for the HIV/AIDS fight, both in the prevention/education and in the caring fronts. That is why we will donate to the National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (nlaad.org), and to the Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS (broadwaycares.org)
Continental level: we care for the humanitarian crisis happening in Venezuela, and we decided to channel this help through the "Hermanitas de los Pobres de Maiquetía" (a congregation of nuns dedicated to assist the elderly, and the poor) We will donate 20% of the funds, and organize a food drive of non-perishables to be send to them.

We want artists to tell through visual arts, how the immigrant community contributes to or inserts
into the life, dynamics, and culture of the city 🏙

Immigration and displacement can potentially have an aesthetic beauty when being focused on in a creative way, it can represent the struggle for social adaptation, and a sense of belonging, as well as a great stimulus for reinvention, and new beginnings 🤔

“The Houston Skyline” is an opportunity for artists to showcase their work and share their stories and perspectives. All entries MUST depict the style of the artist in any form; however, the subject matter must reflect this complex theme in any of its multiple manifestations

A night like tonight in 2017, we presented a plan on how we envisioned the promotion of art and artists, and through it raise funds to help causes that we feel strongly about. It was during an Italian Dinner by Chef Luis Martínez , and Italian opera arias sung by Jessica Colmenares .

In November, our first annual concert took place in the Zilkha Hall of the Hobby Center with Latin American legend Soledad Bravo, and MV Caldera opening the show for her.

On our very first Giving Tuesday we set up a gazebo with information about our organization, HIV/AIDS education and prevention, donations reception, merch sales, and sponsors registration.

We secured a big donation of 1,000 lbs of food from Goya Foods, which took to be classified and distributed in 2018 for the Houston Food Bank and sent to Venezuela.

Lastly, we finalized the year with a small get together to thank our volunteers of the year.

¿Cómo te he ofendido?
