When God’s Invitation Is Bigger Than You Expected

Sometimes a move on the outside reveals things that have been waiting to be addressed on the inside.

As Molly processed the possibility of moving downtown, she found herself confronting old beliefs, fears, and questions she hadn’t necessarily been thinking about in everyday life.

Her heart longed for it. She was also afraid.

And perhaps that tension is part of what makes stepping into something new so challenging: sometimes what God is inviting us into is far bigger than what we thought we could accomplish on our own.

When Life Triggers Us

A major life change rarely brings just one emotion.

Molly McNamara talks about how moving can stir up multiple triggers at once: uncertainty, tension, questions, fear, overwhelm, even difficulty sleeping.

Instead of simply pushing through or pretending those reactions aren’t there, what if we learned to recognize them and pay attention to what they’re telling us?

What Is God Doing While We Wait?

What if waiting isn’t wasted time?

Dana Grindal explores the Hebrew word qavah (קָוָה), often translated as “wait,” and its connection to gathering together, binding together, and the twisting of strands into a strong rope.

There is tension in the twisting.

But there is also strength being formed.

Sometimes we think waiting means nothing is happening. Yet perhaps the waiting itself is part of the work: drawing us together, aligning us, strengthening us, and preparing us for what comes next.

This beautiful conversation between Dana and Molly came from their own experience of waiting, listening, discerning, and ultimately following God’s direction as they moved toward the TFI Ministry House in Downtown Houston.
