Yesterday, Reagan Masonic Lodge No. 1037 had the honor of presenting the Golden Trowel Award to our own Brother Doug Brown.

The Golden Trowel is one of the most meaningful honors a Texas Lodge can bestow. The award recognizes the Brother who has spent a lifetime doing exactly that: quietly, faithfully, and without asking to be seen.

Doug is a teacher. A mentor. The kind of Brother who shows up early, stays late, and lifts everyone around him without ever needing the credit. Every Lodge is blessed to have a Brother like him and we are grateful he calls Reagan Lodge home.

A heartfelt thank you to Sis Lee Walthall Brown (wife of Doug) for pinning the emblem, to R.W. Matt White for presenting it, to Senior Warden Jachob White for sharing the history of the award, and to the Sisters of Heights Chapter No. 258, Order of the Eastern Star, along with every family member, visiting Brother, and friend who joined us to honor him.

Congratulations, Doug. Well-earned, and long overdue. Yoda would be proud my brother!

Saturday evening, Reagan Lodge installed its officers for the 2026–2027 Masonic year.

Thank you to the brethren, families, and guests who filled our hall.

Our gratitude to Ruthven Commandery No. 2 for the presentation of the Flag, and to Houston Heights Chapter No. 258, O.E.S., for the presentation of the Great Lights.

Thank you to our installing team for their work, and to Worshipful Master Don Nesbitt and the outgoing line for a year of faithful service to this Lodge.

The year ahead belongs to all of us — not to any one man.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the service details for our beloved Brother, PM Lernie Buel Ruthven (1934 – 2026).

Please join his family, friends, and the Brethren of Reagan Lodge #1037 as we celebrate his life, his service to our country in the USMC, and his decades of dedication to our community.

What an evening at Reagan Lodge No. 1037.
Last night, we had the honor of recognizing Brother Kim Meyer and Brother Raymond Kapalske who have faithfully served Freemasonry for 50 years or more.

To see that dedication honored in person surrounded by family, friends, and fellow Masons was a reminder of why this Craft endures.
Thank you to everyone who joined us including the friends, family, and brethren who visited, dined, and celebrated with us.
