Croatian School of Houston The main purpose of the school is to teach and perpetuate the standard Croatian Language. Our goal i The graduation ceremony will be held on December 15th.

The school will be held every Sunday at the Croatian Club at 4:30pm until December 15th, unless otherwise notified. The exceptions are October 20th when the school will be held at the Croatian Picnic and December 1st when the school is out due to Thanksgiving weekend. The syllabus for each group will be distributed the first day of school. Please be advised that our teachers are using the Curricul

um for Croatian Studies Abroad published by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia as a baseline for our school curriculum. Our curriculum also incorporates many fun and interactive activities as well as songs, dance, history, and geography. The tuition is minimal but necessary for school supplies and children’s activities since the school has no financial support at this point. The tuition will be $50 per semester ($5 per session) for non-members of Croatian Club and $30 per semester for members of Croatian Club. Sibling discount is 20%. Our spring semester was a huge success and a lot of fun. The Croatian School is a non-profit initiative. The teachers are volunteering their time to teach Croatian and are not being compensated for their hard work. Join us for the 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 16th at at 11am at the Mary Jo Peckham Park by the Gazebo (5597 Gardenia Ln, Katy TX). Please bring two dozen filled eggs per child and a dish to share. Children of all ages, family and friends are welcome. Bring your basket and lawn chair. Wear Croatian jerseys or Croatian colors.

The Croatian School of Houston needs your feedback to determine the interest to continue the Croatian school classes for children in 2022. If you are interested to enroll your child/children in the Croatian School of Houston, please send us an email to [email protected] and provide the following information:
1) Age of each child
2) General knowledge of Croatian language (Yes/No/Somewhat)
3) If a child is fluent or somewhat speaks and understands Croatian, please specify the level of knowledge (beginner/intermediate/fluent)
4) How many parents/caregivers speak Croatian
Please be advised that the Croatian School of Houston is a volunteer based and parent run, non-profit organization. A Croatian speaking parent is expected to help teach the children and participate in all school activities. In the past, the school was held 2hrs a week, typically on Sundays, February to May in spring semester and October to December in fall semester. Sibling discount is provided. Our Story

Croatian School of Houston

About Us

The Croatian School of Houston is a nonprofit Corporation organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The main purpose of the Croatian School of Houston is the education of children in the Houston area about Croatian culture and language. Our goal is to preserve Croatian cultural traditions and national heritage. The Croatian School of Houston is the first and only Croatian school in Texas. The school was established in January 2013. The school operates on volunteer basis and supports itself from student enrollment fees and personal donations. The Croatian School of Houston not only provides the Croatian language lessons, but also teaches children to sing in Croatian and dance traditional Croatian folklore dances.
