Hope House Story 🏠

We were blessed to have 2 sweet friends visit with us recently and we got the honor of having them back the next day! They got to their placements, and were found to need lice treatments so they got to come back to have a lice treatment done by our amazing team! Toy in hand, head in the sink, we had happy guests. We are honored to be entrusted with this calling of helping foster families where we can.

Last week we had 2 guests visit. They were greeted with a meal, bath, NEW clothing and our loving team! We are only a step on our guests journey as they head off to their placement, and on a child's worst day we can give a little HOPE by how we love them. We are so grateful for the Giving Room and every NEW item that has been donated so that we can continue to do what we do!

We are thankful for the DCBS workers that work tirelessly for each child, and have allowed us to walk alongside them in certain cases🤍

Happy Birthday🎉🎈

2 sweet girls got to celebrate their birthday at the Hope House. We wanted to make sure they felt special, valued, and loved even in the circumstances. Each got presents and we got to decorate just for them🩷❤️

Foster care can't work around birthdays, Christmas, or other special days. At the Hope House we are prepared to celebrate with guests and their workers to give each child a sense of HOPE on those days!

Tuesday we were able to meet with the Trigg County DCBS staff and deliver a basket of sweets! We wanted to thank them for the work they do for the children in the community. The work they do does not go unnoticed, and Joy Closet is always here to fill in any gaps when needed. We weren't meant to do any of this alone and we are so thankful for those we get to walk with. 🍪💛

At Joy Closet we are gearing up for our Back to School Bash! We can support our community and make sure our kiddos are ready for back to school!

Can you help by filling the need of NEW, NAME BRAND shoes?? The Closet is still open today until 3:30 for donations👟

It’s feeling a lot like 🎄 Christmas in July 🎄 here at the Closet. Margaret Payton Kirkwood and Julia Chapman Roberts are making a list and checking it twice.

We {almost} have all the shoes we need for the back to school bash! Can you help meet this need?

Lawn Care Service🌱🌱

Do you want to serve the foster children in our area? Do you love to mow? We have the perfect way that you can serve and use your gift! We are in need of someone to help maintain the Hope House yard with mowing, trimming, and weedeating. When children first get to the Hope House the outside of the house (including the yard) is the first thing they see, and we want it to be a great first impression to make them feel safe and comfortable. We are so grateful for the village that has surrounded us and all of our amazing volunteers that have made everything we do possible!

Urgent Donations Needed❤🏠

We have been so blessed to be able to fill many transition bags since opening the Hope House! These bags are full of essential items that children entering foster care can take to their placements with them. In these bags are items that bless the children with confidence to take on their transitions, and they can bless the placement family with peace over the first few days of their own transition with new children at home. Essentials include ALL NEW items: backpack, hygiene items, a few outfits, underwear, socks, shoes, and pajamas.

New Addition✨

We are so excited about this cute addition to the Hope House! This will give our little guests a place to color, eat, and play in a space that is just their size. Thank you Brandie for this sweet donation 🤍

Hope House Needs🏠💙

There are so many scenarios in foster care. Each story looks different and each child is different. We want to be prepared for anything at the Hope House! We want our Giving Room stocked full of basic necessities to be able to prepare transition bags. We want to be able to provide a bath for children that need them with fun bath toys to bring them some JOY and HOPE so they can go to their placement clean and confident.

Our current needs for the Hope House are NEW kid's and women's underwear and bath toys.
