Shortly after the county clerk posted the election results Tuesday night, incumbent mayor James R. Knight Jr. walked up South Virginia Street from his watch party to personally congratulate challenger Russ Guffey at the Memorial Building.

Each candidate also spoke to Hoptown Chronicle about what the future holds.
