Joy Closet Provide support to foster/kinship families in the East Lakes (KY) and Mid-Cumberland Region (TN)

The Joy Closet’s mission is to meet the needs of foster and kinship families by providing clothing and other necessities for children in custody. The team at Joy Closet also works hard to support families by hosting and providing special events, establishing community support through “Foster Friendly Partners”, and providing opportunities for fellowship with other foster, kinship and adoptive families with "Connecting Families".

What a beautiful pile of donations💙

Thank you so much to the Lyon County Lap Quilters for these AMAZING quilts. Blankets can be such a special and comforting thing for children, and we can't wait to have our children pick theirs. They are so unique, made with love, and hopefully each child can find one for their personality.

We want to give a big thank you to the Safelite in Clarksville for 10 backpacks full of supplies for our kiddos. School supplies get lost, broken, or used up so having a full stock all year long is so helpful to our families. They can get a restock whenever they might need!

"For I was hungry and you gave me food... I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

We are so thankful for the Olivet Baptist Church for 106 breakfast and supper meals that just need to add water to make! Our families will truly be blessed by their generosity!

They are also having a Free Community Fall Festival.

The ladies of Auburn Banking Company, Hopkinsville heard that we needed toddler beds and mattresses so they ordered us one and then the bank matched their purchase!

We were blessed by an amazing family with this huge donation last week. It included 100 pairs of socks, 100 pairs of shoes, bras, and other items. These are some of our highest need items and the Closet is truly thankful to be able to share this blessing with our families. ❤

The note that came with it said:
"These donations are graciously given in love by the family of Mrs. Edna Mae Rigsby. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She absolutely loved children and shared that had she not married and had children of her own her dream was to open a home for children who didn't have one. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave each and every one of her children and grandchildren. I'm so proud to be her grandchild and these donations are her love poured out generations later. Sincerely, Jennifer Lovelady and the Rigsby Family"
