Cover the City Project

Cover the City Project Cover the City Project strives to cover it's cities literally and physically with love, encouragemen

Cover the City Project was started in 2013 by Amanda Anderson. Throughout her time as a volunteer at Open Door Ministries it was brought to her attention that several people needed some type of warmth throughout the winter months in the shelter and even outside of the shelters. CTC is an annual blanket drive held every November to help shelters all over with the need of blankets. A blanket is some

thing so small and you think everyone has one but most of the time they don't. This project was a way she found could help those in need during the coldest times of the year. CTC has grown from just a High Point, NC drive to several cities and states. We strive to help other non-profit organizations with the smallest needs in the greatest way. High Point, NC

After nearly a decade at First Baptist Church, a new chapter is beginning for Cover the City Project. 🤍

Since 2017, First Baptist Church has been more than just a building to us — it has been a place where blankets were stacked high, socks were sorted with love, volunteers gathered, and countless lives were impacted through kindness and community.

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership, generosity, and support FBC has shown our mission over the years. Because of them, we’ve been able to help cover cities with warmth and love in ways we never imagined possible.

As our organization continues to grow and evolve, and FBC prepares to embark on their new home- the time has come for us to begin searching for our new home. We plan to remain at First Baptist Church through September while we begin this next season.

This is bittersweet… but also exciting. We believe the right space is out there, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for Cover the City Project.

If you know of a potential space, partnership opportunity, warehouse, office, or building that may fit our needs, we would love to connect.

Thank you for walking alongside us every step of this journey. The mission continues — and this next chapter is just beginning. 🫶

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that small acts of kindness create big impact. 🧦❤️

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we had another successful sock distribution day serving our neighbors in need — and we were also able to fill the blessing box with socks to make sure help continues beyond just one day.

There’s something powerful about watching people come together to care for one another. Every pair donated represents warmth, dignity, and love for someone who may be struggling.

To everyone who donates, volunteers, sorts, delivers, and supports our mission — thank you for helping us continue to cover our city with warmth and love.

If you’re a registered nonprofit in the Piedmont Triad and still need socks for the people you serve, there’s still time to stop by and pick up a box or two before we wrap up today’s giveaway.

We’re so grateful for every organization showing up to help cover our communities with warmth and love. The impact these socks will make across our cities matters more than you know.

WOW. Just wow. 🧦🤍

A HUGE thank you to our incredible partners at Sock Club for this amazing donation of MORE THAN 20,000 pairs of socks to help us continue covering cities with warmth and love through Cover the City Project.

These socks are now ready to make their way into the hands of individuals and families who need them most — and moments like this are only possible because of the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners who believe in this mission alongside us.

We also want to give a special thank you to the volunteers who helped unload the truck today and to Open Door Ministries for assisting us with their box truck and helping make this delivery possible!

It truly takes a community to make an impact like this happen. THANK YOU for helping us continue to serve others with dignity, warmth, and love. 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day to the women who lead with strength, love, grace, and resilience every single day.

Today, we celebrate mothers, grandmothers, bonus moms, mentors, and caregivers who make homes warmer, communities stronger, and lives better simply by being themselves.

Wishing you a beautiful day filled with appreciation and joy. 💐
