As we close out ITA’s fiscal year, we’re saying a heartfelt thank you to three board members whose terms are coming to an end.

Carla Bluitt has served since 2023, Mendy Kearns since 2017, including seven years as Treasurer, and David Lappert since 2019, serving as Vice President and then President from 2023–2026.

David leaves a lasting legacy through many initiatives, most notably the creation of the ITA Textile Hall of Fame, which will induct its inaugural class this November.

Carla, Mendy and David, thank you for your leadership, your time and your commitment to ITA and the textile industry. We’re incredibly grateful for all you’ve given!

Put your newest designs in the spotlight this fall! The Product Spotlight Gallery returns in November, offering buyers a first look at what’s new from ITA members. Submit up to four samples that represent your latest introductions or align with current trends, and send your one-yard cuts or hide samples to the ITA office by October 9th.

Help give fabric samples a second life. ♻️ Join the Young Textile Professionals (YTP) on Friday, August 21, from 11 AM–1 PM as they sort through recycled fabric samples donated after our recent show. It’s a great opportunity to give back, connect with fellow industry professionals and support a more sustainable future for textiles. Lunch is on us!

Congratulations to the 2026 Virginia Jackson Design Competition winners, whose creativity, innovation and technical skill stood out among this year’s submissions.
