To everyone that helped provide breakfast for our staff on Friday we can’t say Thank You enough!
It was very much appreciated by all the staff and a huge hit after a busy first week back.

A huge thank you to our amazing PTO and Mountain View families for donating and bringing in so many delicious breakfast items for our staff. It was such a thoughtful way to wrap up our first week of school and made our morning extra special.

We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity of our families and PTO. Thank you for always finding ways to support and love on our staff. We truly appreciate you!

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Gary Stein to the Mountain View Elementary family as our new second grade teacher!

“My name is Gary Stein, and I am so happy to be joining the Mountain View Elementary family as a second-grade teacher!

I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and I have been teaching for 35 years. One thing I have learned over all those years is that a good teacher never stops learning. Every classroom, every child, and every year brings something new—and I look forward to learning alongside my students this year.

My husband and I just moved to the area in June, so we are still unpacking boxes and getting used to a very different kind of weather! We have already discovered how warm and welcoming the people here are, and everyone at Mountain View has been so kind and helpful. We feel very fortunate to be here.

Family is very important to me. We have two adult children. Our son is an Air Force pilot, and our daughter is an assistant principal at a school in Paris, France. Needless to say, there is always something interesting to talk about around our dinner table!

When I am not teaching, I love to sew, quilt, and cook. I also enjoy singing in my church choir and taking long drives to explore this beautiful state. I am looking forward to discovering many more of North Carolina’s wonderful places.

Most of all, I am excited about getting to know my second graders and their families. I am looking forward to a year filled with learning, laughter, curiosity, and lots of wonderful moments together.

I am so glad to be here at Mountain View!”

With the school starting comes the afternoon car line, and we all know how crazy it can get. Take the chance to be one of three families that win!

If you came to open house you should have received one of these forms. For $5 a ticket you have the chance to pass the afternoon car line!

Forms and payment are due to the front office by this Friday August 28th. Winners will be announced on social media on Monday!

To welcome our teachers and staff back for a great new school year, we will be hosting a Teacher Breakfast on Friday August 28th!!

PTO is taking care of the main part of breakfast and we are looking for little side treats and drinks (coffees, energy drinks, sodas etc)

This is a small way to show our appreciation for all they do and help them finish their first week back on a positive note.

Breakfast will be provided for teachers and staff to enjoy before starting their day. We’re excited to celebrate and thank our amazing school team! 🍎☕🥐

Items can be dropped off on Thursday August 27th or by 8am on Friday August 28th.

Many stopped by the PTO table and inquired about renting the rock!

For just $10 you get the rock for 24 hours. (4pm-4pm starting the day before your rental)

You can stop by the office to see if the date you are looking for is available and fill out all necessary paperwork.
Dates are on a first come basis.
