Week 2 of Summer Camp is Complete! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

What an amazing week we had at summer camp! We started the week off with Vacation Bible School (VBS), where our campers enjoyed learning, worship, and having fun together.

Throughout the week, our campers enjoyed several exciting activities and field trips. They visited Boโ€™s Entertainment, spent time playing and exploring at the park, enjoyed a trip to the movies, and had an exciting visit to the Schiele Museum of Natural History, where they explored exhibits and learned about science, nature, and history.

Our teens had the opportunity to visit Ridgeview Library, where they learned how to crochet and developed a new creative skill. Meanwhile, our younger campers explored the local Farmers Market, learning about fresh produce and supporting local vendors before heading off to enjoy a movie.

Week 2 was filled with fun, learning, creativity, and new experiences for all of our campers. We are grateful for another successful week and look forward to making even more memories together as summer camp continues! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽ‰

What does one week of camp mean to a child in need?

It means laughter echoing through the trees.
It means stories around the campfire.
It means knowing they're loved by Jesus and by people like you.

Every child we send to camp receives more than just food and fun โ€” they receive encouragement, purpose, and the chance to grow in faith and confidence.

Your support can be the reason a child says, โ€œThat was the best week of my life.โ€

Week 1 of Summer Camp is in the books! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

What a wonderful first week at The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center!

We kicked off the week with activities that helped campers get to know one another and build new friendships. The fun continued with our exciting Red Shield Youth Center Field Day, filled with games, teamwork, and lots of smiles!

One of the highlights of the week was our fun Fashion Show, where campers had the opportunity to show off their creativity, confidence, and unique styles.

Throughout the week, our campers visited the Ridgeview Library, where they learned all about dinosaurs, while our teens spent time volunteering at Assure Ministry and giving back to the community.

To top it all off, we enjoyed a trip to Skateland and wrapped up the week by cooling off at the pool!

We are so thankful for a fantastic first week and canโ€™t wait to see what adventures Week 2 has in store! โค๏ธโ˜€๏ธ

These are real children from the Greater Hickory & the High Country areaโ€”each one eager for the chance to spend a week at Camp Walter Johnson this summer.

For many families, the cost of camp is the only thing standing in the way.

You can change that. "Adopt" a camper with a gift toward their registration, fully sponsor a child's $300 camp fee, or help send multiple kids to camp this summer.

Your generosity gives a child the space to swim, laugh, build friendships, and experience the love of Jesus through caring counselors, campfire conversations, and moments that matter.

Will you send a child to camp today?

Camp is calling and a child in our community is hoping to answer.

For many kids, summer camp is more than just a break from routine. It is a place where they feel safe, build friendships, and experience joy.

You can help make that possible.

Your gift sends a child to Camp Walter Johnson, where they will try new things, grow in confidence, and hear a message of hope that can change their life.

Will you send a child to camp today?
