Day 2 in comments

Day 1: Bub Arrives

Bub arrived all alone.

He was stressed, starving, exhausted, and clearly overwhelmed by everything he had been through. For a tiny kitten, the world had become far too much.

Before arriving here, Bub was rescued by some wonderful heroes from Walk With Me Healing Steps in Hickory, NC, who helped make sure he got the chance he desperately needed.

Today wasn't about big victories or dramatic changes. It was simply about getting him started on the path of healing.

Bub ate a good meal, filling his empty belly for what may have been the first time in a while. Once he knew food was available and he was warm and secure, the exhaustion took over.

Now Bub is sleeping.

That's all he could handle today, and that's okay.

For Day 1, being safe, fed, and asleep is more than enough. Tomorrow can wait.

Your support makes it possible to help kittens like Bub. Fur Babies Rescue has over 70 cats and kittens in foster care. These precious souls are in wonderful homes with volunteers who are making sure they have a chance at a better life.

Sweet, June. is still in search of a quiet retreat. This senior kitty is in need of a relaxed environment. Her only request is a window with optimal bird viewing. She’s a sweet girl whose owner passed away. June still has a lot of love to give and likely a lot of years left to give it. She’s fully vetted and looking for her new forever family.

June does need a home where she can be the only kitty. She tolerates a calm dog, but other cats are not welcome.

My very first pregnant cat fostering extravaganza was a feral kitty named Andi. She was brought to my house by a very kind woman named Linda Sutton ❤️. Andi spent 6 weeks hissing at the sight of me 😂. Once her kittens weaned, Linda came back to my house to pick her up (another extravaganza). Oh the memories!!

Fast forward three years… the first picture is a care package, one of several, hand delivered to me at my house by Linda. The other two pics are of Andi, undoubtedly the fattest feral cat in existence!! Linda keeps a careful watch over Andi and she lives the best life a feral can live all because of Linda’s kindness.

Linda is a long time supporter of our rescue and is appreciated more than she may realize 💙. Thank you, Linda for your generosity to our rescue and for your unwavering kindness to animals.

Sweet Sissy is wondering where her person is. It's easy for the shy, quiet ones to be overlooked. But those are the ones who are the most loyal and form the strongest bonds. Her foster home is quite busy and sometimes loud. She can't wait to relax and shine in a quiet home to call her own.

Sissy is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old. She could be an only cat or live with other calm cats. OK with uninterested dogs. OK with kids who respect boundaries.

Adoption fee $25

Ares and his sisters Athena, Astra and Althea were born outside and have been rescued from a dangerous situation. Althea, being the most mischievous one, spent several weeks longer outside - before finally being captured and tortured with loves and cuddles. All are adapting to the cozy indoor life. At 8ish weeks old, they are receiving vet care and should be ready to go to their new homes around 12 weeks.

It is preferred they are adopted in pairs. Adoption fee is $375/pair which includes deworming, spay/neuter, 1-yr Rabies, 1st FVRCP vax and flea/tick prevention.
