Happy Women's Equality Day ✨💞

While S.A.F.E. House serves survivors of all genders, the majority of survivors we serve are women. In fact, some of our most powerful advocates are women who have walked this path themselves, shaping how we show up for every person who walks through our doors.

Thank you to the women of S.A.F.E. House, staff, volunteers, and survivors alike, for the strength you bring to this work every day.

Reminder: our office is closed today, help is always available. Our shelter and 24/7 hotline are always open and available for anyone who needs support or resources: 702-564-3227.💜

S.A.F.E. House has been honored to receive support from the Los Prados Women’s Club, not once, but twice. 💜 Their community events help raise funds for local charities like ours, and we’re excited to help spread the word about two events they’re hosting next month:

🧵 Craft Fair — Saturday, Sept. 12 | 8:30am–2pm
All handmade items — jewelry, accessories, woodworking, seasonal decor, treats & more!

🛍️ Rummage Sale — Saturday, Sept. 19 | 7am–1pm
Hundreds of pieces of jewelry plus an overflowing boutique! (Preview Day for community & employees: Friday, Sept. 18, 11am–2pm)

📍 Both events are at the Los Prados Clubhouse, 5150 Los Prados Circle (off Lone Mountain, between Jones & Decatur)

If you're free either day, stop by and shop for a good cause! 🛒✨

Safety Resource Spotlight: Building a Safety Plan 🔐

A safety plan isn't just for the moment someone decides to leave, it can be created the moment something starts to feel unsafe.

Here are a few places to start:
✅ Identify safe people you can contact in an emergency
✅ Keep important documents and a small bag of essentials somewhere accessible
✅ Know your local resources, including our 24/7 hotline

Our advocates can help build a plan specific to your situation, confidentially and free of charge.

If you or someone you know needs help, call our 24/7 hotline at 702-564-3227 or visit our website at https://safehousenv.org/safety-resources/.

Big news from our team! 🎤💜

Four of our leaders are headed to this year's Nevada Coalition to End Domestic & Sexual Violence (NCEDSV) Conference to present alongside advocates from across the state.

Tiffany Day (Counseling Director) and Tiffany Frazier (Community Engagement Manager) will present "The Whole Advocate: Restoring Self While Serving Others, Reclaiming You While Serving Them." Tara Cavalluzzi (Emergency Services Director) will lead "Accountability and Compassion: Building Strong Teams in DV/SA Work." And our CEO Beth Flory will present two sessions on trauma-informed grievance response and performance management.

We're proud to bring Southern Nevada's voice to the statewide conversation shaping the future of care for survivors and the advocates who support them!
