TRAILS BUILT BY PROJECT GREEN: FRIENDS OF PITTMAN WASH --

LEGACY LEARNING LOOP, located on the terrace across Pittman Wash from Pecos Legacy Park, 150 Pecos Rd., Henderson, NV 89074, featuring 14 interpretive signs that ID & explain geological features & plant species

GREEN VALLEY PKWY. - VALLE VERDE REACH --
CHANDLER TRAIL, longest trail in Pittman Wash, runs 1-mi. east to Valle Verde, featuri

ng a rest area (bench) at Willow Grove, 7 interpretive signs (cheesebush, desert willow, white bursage, nesting area, desert saltbush, rubber rabbitbrush, desert willow), & 3 pet waste stations

EAGLE SCOUT TRAIL, runs from our trailhead behind Silver Springs Rec. Ctr., 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy., Henderson, NV 89074, east toward Valle Verde, featuring a rest area (bench) at Eagle Scout Cove, 3 interpretive signs (desert broom, creosote, catclaw acacia), & 2 pet waste stations

QUAIL LOOP, 2nd longest trail in Pittman Wash, only trail south of the water channel, runs from Nighthawk Trail west to Chandler Trail between Rec. Ctr. & Green Valley Pkwy., crossing the water channel twice, featuring a neighborhood access at Ocotillo Pointe, a rest area (bench) at Quail Cove, & 4 interpretive signs (desert willow, catclaw acacia, creosote, desert saltbush)

CATCLAW LOOP, runs east of Green Valley Pkwy., begins near pet waste station, partially overlapping with utility road, featuring a rest area (bench) at Catclaw Cove, 2 interpretive signs (desert saltbrush & catclaw acacia), & 1 pet waste station

ROADRUNNER LOOP, runs east of CATCLAW LOOP, partially overlapping with utility road & featuring 1 interpretive sign (creosote)

NIGHTHAWK TRAIL, shortest trail in Pittman Wash, connects Chandler Trail & Eagle Scout Trail east of Rec. ONLINE MONTHLY MEMBERS' MEETINGS --

Project GREEN: Friends of Pittman Wash currently holds monthly members' planning meetings online. (Historically, for nearly 2 decades, we had held monthly members' planning meetings at Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Pkwy., Henderson, NV 89074.) OF THE MONTH
For nearly 2 decades, Project GREEN: Friends of Pittman Wash has offered monthly nature walks & volunteer days as a service to the community. These events are free & open to the public. To avoid the heat, June, July, & Aug. events are held either at 8 AM or in the evening.
