What a year! Thank you Henderson for welcoming me with open arms as I served the community this past year. Providing inclusion and equal opportunities for people with disabilities will forever be a part of my everyday life. I am blessed that the Miss America Opportunity paved ways for women like myself to speak about our passions and make a difference. Thank you to my friends and family who have supported me throughout this past year and have provided words of encouragement and support. This journey and opportunity has been nothing short of empowering and I will fondly hold the memories and friendships made this past year close to my heart. Thank you, Miss Nevada Organization, for another amazing year! 🧡

And just like that another Miss Nevada Week is in the books! Blessed to be walking away with $1,000 in scholarships to go towards my upcoming semester at Touro University Nevada and placing as the Second Runner-Up to Taylor, Miss Nevada 2023. I wouldn’t have been up on that stage if it weren’t for a few special people.

Mom and Dad, thank you for supporting every single dream I have, especially my dream of one day walking on the Miss America stage. Even though the dream did not become a reality this year, each time I compete, I learn and grow. Having you cheering me on in the audience means more to me than you will ever know.

Aunt Mary, thank you for all of your help with preparation and organization. You have and will always be my pageant fairy godmother and I know I can always look to you for advice and encouragement.

Helen and Jeff, thank you for flying the whole way to Reno just to support me! Helen, I am blessed to have you in my life as a friend and mentor. Your advice and encouragement always help push me to be the best I can be on that stage and be my true authentic self. I hope I made you proud and this, of course, isn’t the end of the journey.

Brooke Allen-Burnstein, Jillian Helget, and the Miss Nevada Board, thank you for putting together another amazing week where we can all flourish by making new friends and standing tall onstage. Your commitment to the organization does not go unnoticed.

Graduate school is no small feat but I am thankful for my professors and cohort members that make education fun and impactful. Touro University Nevada is dedicated to helping their students succeed as practitioners. Every week I have a new Standardized Patient assessment. These patients are actors who portray different medical conditions that I will encounter in the field. This past week, my standardized patient was in a “car accident” and showed signs of a concussion and wrist injury. It’s my job to think quickly about the different intervention approaches that can be used with this type of patient. I chose to focus on concussion education, along with wrist mobility strengthening exercises. Quick assessment and being adaptive is all part of being an occupational therapist!

Check out the NEWEST partnership of the Miss Nevada Scholarship Organization! I was thrilled to be invited to the grand opening of Green Valley Grocery’s new location, 4420 W. Silverado Ranch Blvd. The staff were so friendly and I was happy to meet everyone celebrating in the opening!
