It is that time of year again… The Holidays will be here soon! Christmas is a special time of the year, a time for being with family and friends, a season for those special surprises that make eyes light up with excitement and joy.
There are many children in our community who will not be able to be with their own families for Christmas due to various circumstances. You can help make the Holidays a little brighter for these foster children. Fundraising has started this year as the number of foster children in Perry County is significant. Donations are greatly needed due to the number of children in foster care from Perry County.
If you would like to help by making a monetary donation, you can make your check payable to: Perry County Foster Parent Association. Please send the donation to 1332 South KY HWY 15 Suite 3 Hazard, KY 41701. Donations are tax deductible and receipts will be mailed to you for your records.
If you are interested in “adopting” a foster child for Christmas instead of making a monetary donation, you will be given the age and gender of a foster child and a “wish” list so you can purchase items for the child. We ask that $100.00 be spent on each child in order to allow all children to receive equally. Presents can either be wrapped by the individual purchasing them or will be wrapped by DCBS Staff. All presents will need to be brought to the Perry County Protection and Permanency Office or arrangements will be made to pick up the gifts no later than December 1, 2025.
Please contact any Perry County Protection and Permanency worker to request more information or to request the age and gender of a child to shop for yourself.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to OUR children.
