In 2012, the LGBT Center moved to its current physical location at 1306 N 3rd Street in Midtown Harrisburg.

The LGBT Center creates affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ people to find community, connection, and support - including regular programs for LGBTQ+ youth, older adults, transgender & non-binary folks, and q***r & trans people of color. Our Story

In 2004, a strategic planning group begin exploring the concept of a regional LGBTQ+ community center, bringing key stakeholders together and gathering input from community members under the guidance of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC). In 2006, based on the information gathered from the community needs assessment, the LGBT Community Center Coalition of Central PA was formed, a Board of Directors identified, and a mission statement adopted - all supported by TFEC. In 2009, the LGBT Center merged with Common Roads, an LGBTQ+ youth-serving organization that had been in existence since 1993, bringing the missions, programs, and operations of the two organizations together as one 501(c)(3) organization. After previously using space at other organizations, this was the Center’s opportunity to have our first space of our own. Today, the LGBT Center employs four full-time staff: an Executive Director, Director of Training & Education, Director of Youth Programs, and Youth Programs Coordinator. With this small but dedicated team, the Center serves over 2,000 people each year across Dauphin, Cumberland, York, and Lancaster counties, and seeks to be responsive to the changing needs of our communities in our programming and our strategic priorities.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: UPDATED HOURS OF OPERATION

GLO Harrisburg and the LGBT Center of Central PA will be closed tomorrow, Friday, October 30th, and will remain closed every Friday starting tomorrow..

We will reopen on Monday at 12:00 PM.

Our Food Pantry distributions will now take place every Monday from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.

We’re excited to partner with Central Outreach Wellness Center to bring free and confidential STI testing back to GLO Harrisburg!

Come get tested, learn more about your sexual health, and take care of yourself in a safe and welcoming space. Your health matters, and there’s no better time to prioritize it!

November at GLO Harrisburg & the LGBT Center of Central PA!

November is almost here, and we have a lot happening at GLO Harrisburg and the LGBT Center of Central PA!

From support groups and youth activities to STI testing, paint night, and community gatherings, there's something for everyone this month.

Here's what we have coming up:

-Aging with Pride – Weekly activities and gatherings for our older LGBTQ+ community.
Common Roads – Youth groups in Harrisburg, Carlisle, and Lancaster.
Passageways – In-person and virtual support group meetings.
Magical Non-Monogamy Group – November 7 & 21.
Free STI Testing – November 3, 5, 10 & 12. Walk-ins welcome!
Life Coaching Group with Jax – November 12.
Transgender & Gender Diverse Leadership Academy – November 13.
Paint Nigh – November 17.

COMMON ROADS SNACK DRIVE!

Help Us Keep Our Youth Fueled and Smiling!

Common Roads, our LGBTQ+ youth support group at the LGBT Center of Central PA, is asking for your support!

Every week, we provide a safe and welcoming space where LGBTQ+ youth ages 12–18 can connect, make friends, and be themselves.

We are collecting snack donationsto help make our weekly gatherings even more enjoyable for our youth!

Every donation makes a difference! Whether it's chips, granola bars, cookies, crackers, juice boxes, or other individually packaged snacks, your generosity helps us create a warm and welcoming environment.

Together, we can show our young people that their community cares about them and that they always have a place where they belong.

This November, THRIVE is hitting the road to Harrisburg, and we're bringing communities together!

We're excited to partner with the LGBT Center of Central PA Aging with Pride Group and Rainbow Rose Centers Silver Triangle Group for a special gathering of LGBTQ+ adults 50+ from across the region.

It's an opportunity to make new friends, share experiences, and strengthen connections beyond our local communities. We'll enjoy an afternoon of conversation, community, and a light lunch together!

Help us keep our youth happy, energized, and ready to connect!

Common Roads is a social and support group for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12–18, providing a safe and welcoming space where young people can build friendships, find support, and feel comfortable being themselves.

We’re collecting snack donations to help make our group meetings even better! Every donation, big or small, helps us create a welcoming environment where our youth feel supported, included, and cared for.

We welcome donations of individually packaged snacks, chips, crackers, granola bars, cookies, fruit snacks, and other youth-friendly treats.
