Caitlin's Smiles We help kids at 200 medical facilities in PA, NY, NJ, DE, MD, VA, WV, OH and DC. The mission is simple, the impact immense.

A nonprofit that helps with the mental health of children in hospitals by providing arts & crafts activities to encourage them to cope with their stress in a positive way. Caitlin's Smiles is dedicated to sharing smiles and laughter with children facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Founded in 2004 in memory of Caitlin Hornung, our non-profit distributes arts and crafts activities to chil

dren in medical facilities. We recognize children as unique individuals and strive to heighten their feelings of self-worth and lower their stress & anxiety levels by providing them with opportunities to be creative and successful with a variety of creative art experiences. We provide patients with "Bag of Smiles" packages through our Creative Arts Care Program. These packages promote activities such as drawing, creative writing and sculpting. Hospital staff distributes the packages while the children are in the hospital. We provide individual arts and crafts kits to hospital departments and clinics where children wait for lengthy treatments.

Caitlin's Smiles welcomes volunteers to help prepare activities for children in medical facilities. Each month we have several Volunteer Sessions scheduled.

Would you like to volunteer, but can't get to our office? You can create cards at home. Keep in mind not to use phrases like 'Get Well,' or mention religion or holidays. Thoughtful messages like Sending Smiles, You Rock, You Are A Star work best. Around 2,500 cards are needed each month. They go into our Bags of Smiles and Coping kits.
