Caitlin's Smiles We help kids at 200 medical facilities in PA, NY, NJ, DE, MD, VA, WV, OH and DC. The mission is simple, the impact immense.

A nonprofit that helps with the mental health of children in hospitals by providing arts & crafts activities to encourage them to cope with their stress in a positive way. Caitlin's Smiles is dedicated to sharing smiles and laughter with children facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Founded in 2004 in memory of Caitlin Hornung, our non-profit distributes arts and crafts activities to children in medical facilities. We recognize children as unique individuals and strive to heighten their feelings of self-worth and lower their stress & anxiety levels by providing them with opportunities to be creative and successful with a variety of creative art experiences. We provide patients with "Bag of Smiles" packages through our Creative Arts Care Program. These packages promote activities such as drawing, creative writing and sculpting. Hospital staff distributes the packages while the children are in the hospital. We provide individual arts and crafts kits to hospital departments and clinics where children wait for lengthy treatments.

Two Harrisburg area PetSmart stores are collecting donations of their holiday plush animals for Caitlin's Smiles. Specially created through the PetSmart Charities programs, these are designed for children and pets to use. They are used for special outreach to Emergency Department patients. The plushies are comforting and cute. Stop by one of the stores listed and donate for our outreach. Thank you donors and PetSmart!

Many thanks for this super group of employees from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for spending time at Smiles Central recently. They were a big help with filling craft kit boxes, cutting foam book marks, assembling kits. These prepared activities will go to children in hospitals, clinics, surgery centers and more! Sending Smiles with your help!

Big thank you goes out to everyone from Susquenita Middle School's National Honor Society for volunteering with us recently. Students and chaperones pitched in to help by assembling kits and making cards. Two of the students had received Bags of Smiles during past hospital stays. Thanks to all for sending smiles to hospitalized kids!

We have a need for coloring books that can be used for either/both boys and girls. Right now, our stock of boys themed coloring books is very low. We send coloring materials to hospitalized kids aged 2-17 within our Bags of Smiles. Thanks for your consideration.

Consider having a coloring book collection at your place of worship, club, school, work or another place where people come together.

Thank you Central Dauphin Rams Boys Soccer! What a great idea!

Join us at the game on Saturday morning and bring a coloring book (or two or three) for free admission to the game! We are collecting coloring books for Caitlin’s Smiles. Books must not be religion or holiday themed and can be for kids and adults.

Two years ago we collected 250 coloring books! This year, Coach Cooper has challenged us to collect 300! Let’s not let him down! 🐏💚🐏
