Munster Education Foundation

Munster Education Foundation Since 1992, we've funded more than $500,000 in grants to Munster schools.

Our mission is to support innovative and experiential learning in all five Munster schools in partnership with educators, parents, businesses, and the greater community.

"Every school has classrooms, but not every school has opportunities behind them."

On this last day of school for the School Town of Munster, we're excited to share this promotional video for the Munster Education Foundation, created by students in Mr. Sera's marketing classes using video cameras and audio equipment funded by an MEF grant. The video production equipment also assisted student entrepreneurs in preparing their pitches for competition — with tremendous success.

Thank you to Munster High School students Beckett Hunt, William Swinson, Nikolas Iatrides, Carter Moore, and Thomas Moore for your outstanding work in telling Munster Education Foundation's story and impact for our community.

Munster Speech & Debate students presented at Purdue University Northwest on the future of artificial intelligence recently—just one example of how they are engaging with real-world ideas beyond the classroom.

This represented more than a competition, says Jordan Mayer, Munster High School speech teacher and director of speech and debate. It reflected a legacy of growth, voice, and opportunity.

"Munster Speech and Debate continues to provide students with meaningful, real-world learning experiences through performance, competition, and community support," Mr. Mayer says.

"Founded in 1965, our no-cut program has grown to as many as 200 students—making it one of the largest and most competitive teams in the nation. Students compete across Chicagoland and Indiana, gaining valuable feedback while building skills in communication, collaboration, and career readiness."

This year, Munster Education Foundation was proud to support the MHS speech and debate team with a $5,000 grant.

Congratulations on another fantastic season!

Great commentary from Munster High School business teacher Krissy LaFlech on the real-life lessons students are gaining through a DTF printer funded by a Munster Education Foundation grant:

"Last May, thanks to the Munster Education Foundation, we received a grant for a DTF printer and startup materials," Mrs. LaFlech wrote in a recent post. "That moment kicked off a full year of building, testing, adjusting, and learning in real time.

"Over the course of this year, students have worked to operate a real shirt and spirit shop, learning production, problem-solving, time management, and what it means to be accountable to something bigger than a grade.

"Recently, they produced shirts for Munster Unified Games and created promotional materials for businesses connected to our StartUp Studio.

"Not just projects, real work, with real expectations ... Grateful for the Munster Education Foundation for making this possible and for investing in experiences that students will carry far beyond the classroom."

Proud to see the students use the printer funded by this grant to produce t-shirts for the School Town of Munster Unified Games yesterday! Great work, Students!

Yesterday, Munster Education Foundation was honored to be interviewed by Munster High School marketing classes in preparation for a video the students will make about the foundation. These students used video cameras and audio equipment that were provided through an MEF grant. To date, this equipment has helped student entrepreneurs prepare pitches for competition and is giving marketing students hands-on experience in developing video promotions. Their teacher is Eric Sera.

Thank you for the opportunity! We can't wait to see your work!
