🇺🇸⚓ HAPPY 251ST BIRTHDAY, UNITED STATES NAVY! ⚓🇺🇸
October 13, 1775 – October 13, 2026
251 YEARS OF HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT!
On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress established the foundation of what would become the United States Navy.
For 251 years, America's sailors have defended our freedom, protected our seas, and answered the call wherever duty demanded.
⚓ TO OUR SAILORS — The men and women who have served aboard our mighty fleet, from destroyers and aircraft carriers to submarines and amphibious warships.
✈️ TO OUR NAVAL AVIATORS — The pilots, aircrews, and support personnel who defend our nation from above the seas.
⚕️ TO OUR NAVY CORPSMEN — The legendary Docs who serve alongside our Marines and sailors, saving lives under fire and never leaving a brother or sister behind.
🔱 TO OUR NAVY SEALs — The warriors of our Naval Special Warfare community, who carry out some of our nation's most demanding missions.
🇺🇸 TO OUR NAVY VETERANS — Your service, sacrifice, and dedication helped build the greatest traditions of the United States Navy.
From the wooden ships of 1775 to today's nuclear-powered carriers, submarines, and advanced aircraft, the United States Navy continues to stand watch.
From Commander Larry "Hud" Higgins and Leonard Sporman VFW Post 1109, Highland, Indiana:
We salute every sailor, past and present, and remember those who never returned home.
FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS, SHIPMATES!
⚓ DON'T GIVE UP THE SHIP! 🇺🇸
