We’ve proudly competed in FIRST since 1996 and are the first team in history to win four World Championships. Bill Beatty of BEMCOR, Inc. was invited, along with other community and business leaders, to meet with the leadership of the School City of Hammond to explore forming a robotics team to compete. From that discussion emerged Team Hammond, which began in 1996 and has competed in the FIRST Ro

botics Competition every year since. Our team number evolved from 14 to 71 over the years, and throughout our journey, we’ve helped shape the rules of the competition ourselves. In nearly three decades of competition, we're the first team in the world to have won the Championship four times (1997, 2001, 2002, and 2004). In 2021, we lost one of our founding mentors, Mr. Darrell Noble, who guided our team for 26 unforgettable seasons. His engineering skills, mentorship, and kindness touched the lives of hundreds of Team Hammond students, mentors, and alumni. His legacy lives on in every student who continues to build, learn, and dream big. The vision and passions of Mr. Bill Beatty and Mr. Darrell Noble continue to inspire everything we do.

Congratulations to the State Championship Alliance - Maverick Robotics, Red Alert Robotics, and SuPurDueper Robotics! Good luck in Houston!

STATE CHAMPIONS! 🏆
For the first time in Maverick Robotics history, we are bringing home the blue banner from the FIRST Indiana State Championship!
After finishing qualifications ranked #1, we had the honor of captaining Alliance 1 alongside our incredible partners, Supurdueper Robotics (7457) and FIRST Team 1741 - Red Alert Robotics. It all came down to a tense, three-match finals series, but we pulled through to take the win!
Next stop: Houston! 🚀 We’ll be competing at the FIRST Championship from April 30 – May 2. Let’s keep this momentum going! Go Mavs!
