Friday was another strong Pantry on the Go at the Robert W. Johnson Community Center.

Our regular volunteers were joined by volunteers and representatives from the Maryland Food Bank, Meritus, NYMEO Federal Credit Union and the Washington County Health Department.

We were also pleased to welcome Maryland Food Bank leadership, supporters and regional representatives who worked alongside our volunteers and had an opportunity to see Pantry on the Go in action on Jonathan Street.

A special thank you to Mrs. Patricia Johnson, Pastor George and Christ Embassy’s Inner City Mission, Adolph, and everyone who helped pack bags, distribute food and keep things moving throughout the morning.

These partnerships matter. They bring people, organizations and resources together around a simple goal: making sure our neighbors have access to fresh, healthy food.

Thank you to the Maryland Food Bank for its continued partnership and to everyone who spent part of their Friday serving with us.

Another good day of community at the Robert W. Johnson Community Center.

Yesterday was a good day at the Robert W. Johnson Community Center.

As part of the United Way of Washington County, Maryland Day of Caring, volunteers from Horizon Goodwill Industries spent the day giving the grounds around the Center some much-needed attention.

They planted flowers, refreshed our landscaping and helped make the entrance to the Center look welcoming for the families and neighbors we serve.

We’re grateful to the Horizon Goodwill team for giving their time and energy to RWJCC, and to United Way for bringing people and organizations together through the Day of Caring.

Thank you for investing your time right here in our community. The Center looks great!
