Healthier Futures has officially launched, and we are grateful to everyone who helped us reach this moment. The progress already underway reflects the commitment of donors, partners, volunteers, public leaders, and community members who believe Hagerstown deserves greater access to food, care, opportunity, and support. This launch was not the finish line. It was an invitation for more people to learn, share, and take part in what comes next.

Today is World Mental Health Day and Horizon Goodwill Industries recognizes that mental health challenges can be a barrier to social mobility. Did you know 1 in 5 U.S adults will experience a mental health concern each year? For youth, it's 1 in 6.

Be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of someone experiencing a mental health challenge is one of the things taught in these classes. Tammy, the Director of Learning & Development, has taught/co-taught 86 (!) Mental Health First Aid classes to certify hundreds of people in Mental Health First Aid. Bringing awareness and understanding is instrumental in dismantling misconceptions and fostering understanding of mental health disorders.
