Countdown Day 6 of 30 days until Nationals.

Get to know me better with these fascinating facts...

1) As a high school senior, I achieved the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award, often compared to the Eagle Scout, by organizing and hosting an empowering adolescent girls' health fair that featured speakers discussing critical health issues such as domestic violence, teen pregnancy, breast cancer, and navigating your first GYN exam.

2) Running has been a constant source of inspiration for me, starting with cross country and track and field in school, and continuing into adulthood with numerous 5K and three half marathon finishes.

3) At just 8 years old, I began playing the clarinet, a beloved hobby I still cherish today, dusting off my instrument for special occasions.

4) With 23 incredible years of marriage to my rock, Jeff, we've raised three phenomenal children, aged 21, 19, and 14, and we're proud of the people they're becoming.

Countdown Day 5 of 30 days until Nationals

My favorite photo with a service member—my daughter, PFC Abigayle Snyder. Words can't express how proud I am of her commitment to serving our country. She has chosen a path of honor, sacrifice, and dedication, and I couldn't be more proud. 🇺🇸❤️

Day 4 of 30 in Countdown to Nationals.

A behind the scenes moment:

About eight weeks before the pageant, I had a dental procedure that prevented me from practicing my clarinet for the Talent Optional competition. As a result, I had to make a last-minute switch to a different talent. We'll see how it goes!
One lesson I learned throughout this experience is the importance of flexibility when preparing for and competing in a pageant. Unexpected challenges can arise, and sometimes you have to think outside the box to find a solution. Adaptability can make all the difference.

Countdown Day 3 of 30 days until Nationals

What I'm looking forward to most at the Miss Military Star National Pageant is the sisterhood. I'm excited to build new friendships, create meaningful bonds with contestants from different backgrounds, and grow alongside such inspiring women. As one of the adult competitors, I especially look forward to being a positive role model and mentor to the younger queens, encouraging them to believe in themselves and pursue their goals. I'm also excited for the personal growth that comes from competition—developing stronger leadership skills, building confidence, and representing the values of service, integrity, and empowerment. Most of all, I'm looking forward to being part of a supportive community where we can learn from one another and celebrate each other's successes.

Day 2 of 30 day countdown to Nationals.

Small Acts, Lasting Impact

Creating meaningful change through service, compassion, and the talents we share with others.

Small Acts, Lasting Impact is built on the belief that even the simplest acts of kindness can make a profound difference in someone's life. Through my passion for crocheting, I create handmade blankets for veterans, offering comfort and gratitude to those who have served our country. As a nurse and volunteer with the Red Cross, I use my professional skills to care for others during times of need and crisis.
My commitment to service extends throughout my community by volunteering at local 5K events, supporting school activities, writing thank-you cards for veterans, and participating in other opportunities that uplift and encourage those around me. Through this platform, I hope to inspire others to recognize that they don't need grand gestures to create change. By sharing our unique talents, skills, and compassion, we can strengthen our communities and leave a lasting impact—one small act at a time.

Last weekend, I had the privilege of volunteering at the Rock the Run 5K, a fundraising event for The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission. The Hope Center has been providing essential services, including food assistance, emergency shelter for men, and life recovery programs for addiction, to address physical and spiritual needs in the community since 1955. Their operations are funded through various initiatives, including thrift stores that sell donated goods. The organization has made a significant impact on the Hagerstown community, including veterans who have been assisted by the center. I was honored to assist in handing out awards at the end of the race and shared information about our Miss Military Star system with participants. I was particularly proud to award my sister, Deanna, for her impressive performance in her age division, achieving a personal record and placement.
