Our adoption range is North and South Carolina and most of Virginia. Hart-2-Heart Rescue is a non-profit organization formed to rescue small mixed-breed and purebred dogs who would otherwise fall between the cracks. Our focus is to provide a happy future for our foster dogs, to guarantee the care and support needed to ensure their full health of both mind and body. Everything we do is driven by th

e passionate belief that we can improve life for the dogs in our care regardless of their background, whether they are strays, abandoned, from puppy mills or shelters, or victims of unavoidable life circumstances. Hart-2-Heart Rescue was established by long-time friends whose paths converged in the 1990’s. With complimentary skill sets and years of pet ownership, breed knowledge, training and behavioral expertise, and rescue experience, Jennifer and Judy joined forces to develop the model of home-fostered dogs. Hart-2-Heart Rescue was born of a dream and a sense of social responsibility to ensure that the foster dogs in our care are provided with necessary medical, social and life skills that will enable them to develop to their full potential. Joined by a group of dedicated volunteers, Hart-2-Heart’s goal is to successfully match each dog with the right family as well as to match each family with the right dog. Our volunteers give freely of their time, resources and love to provide an in-home experience for each of our foster dogs. Our rescues live as an integrated member of our families in our homes, where they’re taught the skills and joys of daily living. We ensure that adoptions are for life by determining a suitable match and by providing on-going support to adoptive families. Hart-2-Heart Rescue is an all-volunteer charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Greensboro, North Carolina. We do not have a physical shelter because our adoptable dogs live in foster homes. Our dream is to help dogs find the right home and bring joy to the people who adopt them; our expertise is in doing so.

Kobe walks great on a leash, he’ll sit on command, and he’s never met a stranger. He’s good with cats and other dogs and he LOVES to play with toys. He’s still working on house training and needs a home with patience that will continue working with him.

Susan adopted Cheyanna from Hart-2-Heart Rescue in March and then decided “what's one more Yorkie?” and adopted Maddie three weeks ago. She loves the breed and has had 3 Yorkies at one time.

Chase is fun-sized and a fantastic cuddler so he’s the perfect lap buddy! 😍

Chase can be shy when you first meet him. He came to us as a breeder-release dog, having never lived in a home as someones beloved pet. He was a little reserved in the beginning, but since adjusting to his foster family, he’s really come to life.

Chase is smart and curious. Hes always smiling and gets excited when you talk or play chase with him. He loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home. We require his adoptive home to have another small social dog under 12lbs so he can continue to watch and learn from another dog in the home.

April was found by a good Samaritan in the middle of a busy interstate, unable to see because her hair was covering her eyes, and her limbs were matted to her body. Now April is a lap dog who loves attention. She’s friendly and will seek attention from visitors and strangers. April will be best as an only dog, but could possibly share a home with one other small dog (under 10 lbs) who is not lap possessive. She craves attention and constantly shows you she is a very happy little girl.

April has dry eye (KCS), which means she needs tacrolimus eye drops 2 times a day for the rest of her life. These eye drops are $55/bottle and last about 6 weeks. One bottle will be included with her at adoption time.

Richard and Stephanie lost their Yorkie, Lil Bit, to congestive heart failure in 2024 at the age of 13, and they (along with their 15-year-old Yorkie, Half Pint) have been grieving the loss ever since. They recently started looking for a male Yorkie and as soon as they saw Dallas's picture and read his personality bio, they felt like he would fill the open space in their heart and complete their family. ❤️🐾❤️
