ALSapalooza was started in 2016 by the late Mary Luper but has since become the work of a dedicated team of people who continue this music festival each year in her honor as well as in honor of the late Sandy Wayt, Suzanne Wozniak and Ray Letchworth.

Did you know that ALS United North Carolina serves 7 certified ALS clinics across the state? These clinics offer various services including neurological care as well physical, occupational and respiratory therapies. Not only is this a huge convenience for patients who often have limited mobility, but patients who regularly receive this multidisciplinary care have been shown to have improved longevity and quality of life.

Did you know that the primary focus of ALS United North Carolina is patient care?

In 2025, the organization served 825 people living with ALS ranging in age from 25 to 91, including 173 newly diagnosed individuals and 69 veterans.

Services provided to patients include direct grants for home modifications and other costs, loans of durable medical equipment, funding of multidisciplinary clinics across the state and support groups.
