Gate City Rotary meets every Thursday morning at the O'Henry hotel at 7am. Breakfast is $15 for Guests and non-local visiting Rotarians. Please feel free to join us for our meeting if you are interested in learning more about our Rotary club!

What a great morning at Gate City Rotary!

Today, we were privileged to welcome Dave Goren with the National Sports Media Association as our guest speaker. Dave shared with us about the tremendous work he and the NSMA are doing, particularly in mentoring and encouraging young people who have a passion for sports journalism and broadcasting. It was inspiring to hear how they are helping develop the next generation of professionals in the sports media industry.

We also had the pleasure of recognizing Michael Barnes, who was presented with a certificate honoring him as a Paul Harris Fellow. Congratulations, Michael, and thank you for your commitment to Rotary and to service above self!

We had a great crowd, a wonderful breakfast, and an even better time of fellowship this morning.

We would love to have you join us next Thursday! Come enjoy breakfast, meet some great people, and learn more about how Gate City Rotary is making a difference in our community and beyond.

What a wonderful morning of fellowship and international connection at Gate City Rotary!

We were honored to welcome a visiting Rotarian from India and enjoyed participating in the meaningful Rotary tradition of exchanging club flags—a reminder that Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self” truly reaches around the world.

We also had the pleasure of hearing from Joey with the Greensboro Gargoyles hockey team, who shared exciting updates about the organization and what fans can look forward to this season. We appreciate Joey taking the time to visit with our club.

Great speakers, great fellowship, and another great reminder of the friendships and connections that make Rotary so special!

What a wonderful morning of fellowship at the Gate City Rotary Club!

Today we had the privilege of officially welcoming Michael Barnes as our newest Rotarian. Congratulations, Michael! We know you will be a tremendous asset to our club and to the community we serve. A special thank you to Judge Hassell for once again leading a meaningful and memorable swearing-in ceremony, and to Blake Hunt for serving as Michael’s sponsor throughout the process.

We also enjoyed an outstanding presentation from our District Peace Programs Chair, Scott Wagner, who shared the incredible impact of Rotary’s Peace Programs and the important role they play in promoting understanding, leadership, and peace around the world.

It was great to see such a large crowd this morning. Days like today are a wonderful reminder of what makes Rotary so special—friendship, service, leadership, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

There’s nothing quite like seeing the smile on a child’s face when they receive a bed of their own.

Today, members of the Gate City Rotary Club had the privilege of partnering with A Bed and A Book to deliver and assemble beds for local children in our community. It was a wonderful day of service, and the excitement and gratitude from the children and their mom reminded us why Rotary is committed to putting Service Above Self.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time today and to our incredible partners at A Bed and A Book for the life-changing work they do every day. Together, we’re helping provide more than just a bed—we’re giving children a comfortable place to rest, dream, and thrive.

Another great morning with the Gate City Rotary Club!

Despite the rainy weather leading to a smaller crowd, we enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship and learning together.

A special thank you to Van Lankford for sharing the rich history of The Rotary Foundation and the Paul Harris Society. His presentation was both informative and inspiring, reminding us of the incredible impact Rotarians around the world have made through service and giving.

Reminder: This Monday at 2:00 p.m., we'll be partnering with A Bed and A Book to deliver beds to children in our community. If you would like more information or are interested in helping, please contact Michael Craig for details.

What a great morning at the Gate City Rotary Club!

We were honored to welcome Kristen Marsh, who shared the inspiring mission of A Bed and A Book. Their work ensures children have both a bed to sleep in and the chance to develop a love for reading—two essentials that can shape a lifetime.

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout, and our Happy Dollars reflected the many blessings and successes within our club. Mornings like this remind us why Rotary is committed to Service Above Self and supporting organizations that strengthen our community.

Tonight, members of the Gate City Rotary Club had the privilege of attending the Rotary District 7690 Installation Ceremony as we celebrated a new year of service above self.

Congratulations to our new District Governor, Karen Pollard, as she begins her year of leadership. We know your passion for Rotary and your commitment to making a difference will inspire clubs throughout our district.

It was a wonderful evening of fellowship, celebrating Rotary’s impact, recognizing leaders who have served faithfully, and looking ahead to another year of changing lives in our communities and around the world.

Here’s to a fantastic Rotary year filled with friendship, service, and opportunities to make a lasting difference!

What a wonderful evening celebrating the Gate City Rotary Club’s Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the historic Carolina Theatre!

We were honored to gather in one of Greensboro’s most iconic venues and enjoy an outstanding meal provided by Culinary Vision as we reflected on a successful Rotary year and looked ahead to an exciting future.

As we close out another Rotary year, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to outgoing President Jon Fulton for his outstanding leadership and dedication. Jon faced several challenges throughout the year, including navigating venue changes and logistical hurdles, yet he remained focused on serving our club and positioning us for future success. Thank you, Jon, for your hard work, perseverance, and commitment to Gate City Rotary.

Congratulations to David Lillard as he was officially sworn in as our new President! Thank you, David, for accepting this important leadership role. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to supporting your vision for our club.

A special thank you also goes to our incoming Board of Directors and committee leaders who have volunteered their time and talents to help make this a fantastic year of service, fellowship, and community impact.

The evening was highlighted by the presentation of several well-deserved awards and recognition of members who achieved perfect attendance. Leading the way was Judge Hassell, who was recognized for an incredible 35 years of perfect attendance—a remarkable testament to his dedication to Rotary and our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening so special. The fellowship, leadership, and spirit of service on display reminded us why Rotary continues to make such a positive impact in Greensboro and beyond.
