What a great morning with the Gate City Rotary Club!

We enjoyed a fantastic crowd today, great food, and even better fellowship as we shared all of the exciting things happening in each other’s lives. There was plenty of enthusiasm surrounding our local sports teams, led by the Greensboro Swarm bringing home the G-League Championship, the UNC Tar Heels advancing to the College World Series Championship Game, and of course the Carolina Hurricanes capturing the Stanley Cup!

We wrapped up the meeting with a fun and spirited game of Rotary Jeopardy that brought plenty of laughs and friendly competition.

Days like today are a great reminder that Rotary is about more than service—it’s about friendships, fellowship, and celebrating our community together.

Another great morning with the Gate City Rotary Club at Abbotswood!

Today we had the privilege of hearing from Kathy Neff, Vice President of Development at the Greensboro Science Center. Kathy shared exciting updates about the Science Center’s newest project, the incredible BioDome currently under construction.

The BioDome will be a transformational addition to an already outstanding community asset, providing unique educational opportunities and immersive experiences for visitors of all ages. Greensboro is truly fortunate to have a world-class facility like the Greensboro Science Center continuing to invest in the future of our city.

Thank you, Kathy, for sharing your vision and progress on this exciting project. We look forward to watching it come to life!

Another great morning with the Gate City Rotary Club!

Today we had the privilege of hearing from our very own Glen White, who shared a recap of our annual fundraiser at Club Fifth Seasons. Glen provided excellent data and insights that highlighted the success of the event and the impact it will have on our ability to serve the community.

One of the best parts of every Rotary meeting is Happy Dollars, and it was wonderful to hear so many positive updates and blessings being shared by our members. We are truly fortunate to be part of such an engaged and caring group of community leaders.

Be sure to join us next week at Abbotswood at Irving Park as we learn about the exciting new BioDome project at the Natural Science Center. You won't want to miss it!

If you missed today’s Gate City Rotary Club meeting, you missed out! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast this morning at Abbotswood in Irving Park. Between the omelet station and the incredible breakfast buffet, it felt like we were dining at a 5-star resort.

We also had a very interesting presentation from Scott Jones with Tiny House Community Development Inc. Scott and his team are making a tremendous impact in the Greensboro and High Point communities by helping provide affordable housing solutions for those in need. Thank you, Scott, for sharing about the important work your organization is doing and for making a difference in the lives of so many people in our community!

Another great morning of fellowship with the Gate City Rotary Club! We had a wonderful turnout at Abbottswood and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast together. One of the best parts of our weekly meetings is hearing all of the positive things happening in the lives of our members through our “happy dollars” time. It is always encouraging to celebrate each other’s blessings and successes.

We were also honored to hear from Tracy Roof with Roberts Academy at Elon University, who shared about the incredible work being done to support students with dyslexia and their families. Thank you for educating and inspiring us with the important mission of Roberts Academy and the difference being made in the lives of so many children.

We had a fantastic Gate City Rotary Club meeting this morning, and what a special setting it was! A huge thank you to Allie Arpajian for hosting us at the historic Carolina Theater.

After our regular meeting, Allie treated us to an incredible behind-the-scenes tour, where we learned so much about the rich history of this Greensboro treasure. We also appreciated the added insights from our very own Judge Robbie Hassell, who helped bring the stories to life.

One of the highlights was seeing the famous “ghost light” left shining on stage for any spirits that may wander through the theater at night—definitely a unique and memorable moment!

If you missed today, you truly missed a treat. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting!

We had a wonderful time at our Gate City Rotary Club meeting on Thursday – thank you to Towne Bank for graciously hosting us!

Our guest speaker, Phillip Miller, spoke about Enduring Gratitude, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Greensboro. Their mission is to show appreciation to veterans and active‑duty service members by offering meaningful outdoor experiences, free of charge. Each year they organize a day of pheasant hunting and sporting clays in the heartland of North Carolina. The organization operates entirely with volunteers and ensures that every dollar donated goes toward providing these experiences.

Their next annual event will take place on February 21, 2026 at the Beaver Pond Sporting Club near Snow Camp. This event invites veterans and active‑duty members for a day of sporting clays and pheasant hunting, fellowship and appreciation.

We encourage our fellow Rotarians and friends to learn more about Enduring Gratitude, volunteer, or donate to support this meaningful cause and help thank those who have given so much

Despite smaller numbers this morning due to the weather, we had a great time together at the Gate City Rotary Club. It was a meaningful reminder that fellowship and connection matter, no matter the circumstances.

We were grateful to hear from Cory Phillips, Director of Advancement at Peacehaven. Cory shared about the incredible work Peacehaven is doing to create a true sense of belonging for people of all abilities, along with how storytelling, relationships, and community engagement help move that mission forward.

As we head into the upcoming winter weather this weekend, please stay safe and take care of one another. If you find yourself in need of anything during the storm, don’t hesitate to reach out to a fellow Rotary member — that’s what this Rotary family is all about. 💙❄️
