Candidate Forum Set for September Lunch with the League

The League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad will begin their 2026-2027 Programs with a candidate forum, featuring Guilford County Commissioner candidates, incumbent Patrick Tillman (R) and Derek Mobley (D), running for the District 3 seat.

The forum, co-sponsored with One Sector, One Voice Triad, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at First Presbyterian Church’s Mullin Family Life Center, 706 N. Greene St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the forum will begin at 12:10 p.m.

The forum is free and open to the community. Lunch is available for purchase and registration is required. Go to https://lwvpiedmonttriad.org/lwl to register, with or without lunch.

Questions, created by members of the nonpartisan League, and from audience members, will be presented by a neutral moderator.

“The League of Women Voters has a mission to defend democracy and empower voters,” said Linda Gillison, President of the League of Women Voters of the Piedmont Triad, “and it's exciting for us to host this forum, intended to provide Guilford County voters with a chance to hear about and better understand the positions of the candidates who are vying to serve as county commissioner.”

The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that does not endorse candidates or political parties. For over a century, the League has hosted candidate debates and forums running at all levels of government.
