Today marks the official beginning of National Police Week, which will continue through Saturday, May 16. Throughout the nation, communities will hold ceremonies to recognize the dedicated individuals who currently safeguard our neighborhoods and, most importantly, to remember and pay tribute to the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

In April, our cadets had the opportunity to participate in a joint training with the Brown County and Ashwaubenon Cadet programs. The training included a variety of practical scenarios, such as responding to a suspicious person, conducting a welfare check, performing a traffic stop, and handling an active threat situation. Cadets were also grouped with new peers to encourage collaboration and broaden their experience. This was a valuable and engaging learning opportunity, and our cadets look forward to participating in future joint trainings.

Over the past month, our cadets have stayed busy assisting with the missing persons event, training alongside Appleton Cadets and Ashwaubenon cadets and competing in the 2026 Milwaukee Cadet Competition. Our cadets competed in 6 different scenarios against 21 different teams. We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and success, earning 1st place in the Traffic Stop scenario and 3rd place in M.I.L.O. (force options). Their performance truly shows how far they’ve come.

This weekend, our cadets put their training to the test at the state cadet competition, competing against teams from across the state. They tackled scenarios including traffic, search warrant, incident command, active threat, law test, airsoft, and M.I.L.O. The cadets had a great time, learned a lot, and we’re incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. Thank you Wisconsin Law Enforcement Education Advocates Association for this amazing opportunity!

Today, a few of our Advisors and Cadets attended the “Find Your Inspiration” event!

This incredible event gives more than 3,400 eighth graders from across the region a chance to explore and learn about various career and educational opportunities.

We were honored to be invited to share information about our Department and Cadet Program. Thank you to the organizers, Greater Green Bay Chamber for hosting such a meaningful experience. We hope to see some of these students as future Cadets or Sheriff’s Deputies one day! 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️💫

Thank You to Everyone Who Made Our Second Annual Cadet/Explorer Competition a Success!

The Brown County Sheriff's Public Safety Cadets recently hosted our second annual Cadet/Explorer Competition, and we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the event possible.

A special thank you to NWTC for graciously providing their amazing facilities, and to Kwik Trip and Festival Foods for their generous food and drink donations.

We also want to recognize all of our volunteers who dedicated their time to serve as judges and role players — your support truly makes a difference.

And of course, thank you to all the Cadet and Explorer posts who attended and competed. Without your participation, this event wouldn’t be the success that it was!

Congratulations to all the teams that placed — especially to Milwaukee County Team 1, who took home the Top Team Trophy this year!

We’re also proud to share that our Brown County Cadets earned four third-place trophies in the following categories:
🏆 Disturbance
🏆 Dispatch
🏆 Welfare Check
🏆 M.I.L.O. (Force Options)

Thank you again to everyone involved — we can’t wait to see you all next year!
