We are incredibly proud to celebrate our Executive Director, Chad Janowski, as he begins his first year serving as Region E Director on the NSELA: National Science Education Leadership Association Board!

Chad’s passion for science education began in the classroom, where he saw firsthand the curiosity, questions, and moments of discovery that make science meaningful for students. Now he is taking that passion to a national level—connecting with science education leaders across the country and working to strengthen opportunities for educators and students.

"I believe one of the most powerful ways to improve science education is to support teachers as they grow as leaders—in their classrooms, schools, districts, and professional communities. When teachers are supported in developing their leadership, their influence reaches far beyond a single lesson or school year."

We had SO much fun at ArtFest Green Bay this past weekend!

Our I 💛 GB sign-building station was a hit! Families, kids, and community members got to build their own miniature version, and take home a little piece of Green Bay — completely FREE thanks to Breakthrough!

We’re BEE-yond excited to announce… we're heading to Treinen Farm Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch this October!
And this year’s maze design couldn’t BEE more perfect—it’s a Rusty Patched Bumble Bee! 🐝💛

We’ll be joining the fun for one weekend in October, bringing a special Einstein Project STEM activity inspired by this important Wisconsin pollinator. Stop by, say “hi,” and BEE sure to check out the special bumblebee design we’ll have for you to take home!

This summer, we were lucky enough to have Meredith Stoa at the Einstein Project. Meredith comes from a long line of siblings who have shared their time, talents, and expertise with us over the years.

From helping run field trips and summer camps in our Makerspace to preparing countless curriculum kits for schools, Meredith jumped in wherever she was needed. She brought creativity, patience, and a willingness to tackle some of the less glamorous parts of STEM education. And by “less glamorous,” we mean counting and sorting hundreds of thousands of pipe cleaners. 🫡

The behind-the-scenes work may not always get the spotlight, but it’s what helps make our programs and curriculum kits possible for students and teachers across the region and we are incredibly grateful for all of the time and hard work she put in this summer.

Thank you, Meredith, for another summer of making, teaching, organizing, counting, sorting, and occasionally questioning why there are so. many. pipe. cleaners. We wish you the very best as you head back to UW–Madison! Go Badgers!
