Families staying at Family Haven need a few everyday essentials this fall.

Family Haven is ICCF’s 6-unit shelter where families experiencing homelessness can stay together while pursuing permanent housing. As families settle in, items like bedding, pillows, dishes and cookware help make their temporary space feel more comfortable and cared for.

We are currently seeking donations of:

Twin size sheets
Twin size blankets
Pillows (new)
Pots and pans
Silverware
Cooking utensils
Plates
Cups

Gently used items are welcome, and new items can also be purchased directly through our Amazon registry: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/1S9XVPW8JBE1C?ref_=cm_sw_r_em_ud_ggr-subnav-share_H4X7PXW8DYVXVC4VEM58

Our mission is more than words on a truck.

Every week, ICCF staff, volunteers, and our facilities and maintenance team make their way across Grand Rapids to help carry out the work of creating affordable homes and thriving neighborhoods.

What does that work look like?
🛠️ It looks like home repairs.
🏠 It looks like preparing a space for a new family.
📦 It looks like loading supplies, fixing what needs attention, or showing up behind the scenes so neighbors can feel supported and at home.

It’s steady, practical, faithful work, and it helps make our mission visible all across the city.

So if you see an ICCF truck or van out in the neighborhood, give a wave and say hi. There’s a good chance someone is on their way to help open doors, strengthen homes, and support neighbors in our community.

Backpacks & Beats was a blast!

Thank you to the neighbors, community partners, volunteers and school supply donors who helped make this event possible. Together, we collected nearly 500 backpacks and countless school supplies to help students start the school year prepared and confident.

We’re especially grateful for the generous support of partners and donors including Clark, OVD Insurance, Thornapple Covenant Church, Intandem Credit Union 🏦, Orion Construction, First Church, Calvin Church and Orchard Hill Church.

Events like this are a reminder that thriving neighborhoods are built by people showing up for one another. We’re grateful for everyone who helped make this day such a meaningful celebration for students and families.

As Michigan’s oldest nonprofit affordable housing provider, we serve more than 2,000 households each year, manage nearly 700 affordable rental homes, and offer education and homeownership opportunities that help families build a brighter future.

On National Nonprofit Day, we’re celebrating the impact that’s possible when a community comes together and inviting you to be part of it. Whether you volunteer, give, or advocate, your support helps more neighbors find a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.

Behind the walls of each ICCF Community Homes apartment, you’ll find more than housing. You’ll find a place where neighbors can build stability, community and opportunity.

That’s why we’re especially grateful for our Home Base Giving Club, a community of monthly donors who show up regularly to invest in neighbors.

By joining Home Base, you help create and sustain affordable housing and ensure more people have the foundation they need to thrive.
