Did you know...
In 1992, donated a 3rd home that was scheduled for demolition. Instead it was requested the money allocated for its demolition be used to move it to the Well House campus, where it was renovated using funds from supporters.

Luckily, today we have many community members like ORION Construction to help Well House navigate all the moving parts to keep houses running and people off the streets.

The founder, Marian’s style of living emphasized living gently on the earth and with each other, so she built her home around this concept, demonstrated by her refusal to have electricity in her home.

In 1977 Marian Clements purchased the original Well House home for $350, determined to stand on her own feet as well as help others in a similar situation.

The inspiration for Well House, was Wallhouse located in Scotland. Wallhouse belonged to Well House founder Marian’s family for more than three hundred years until its sale in 1904, and offered ‘protection and refuge.’ In keeping with the mission Marian opened her home to others in need of comfort and protection.
