We were honored to host a breakout at the Understory Festival hosted by — an inaugural civic and spiritual gathering at Washington National Cathedral bringing together writers, artists, and civic builders around one shared question: how do we rehumanize our common life in a time of cultural fragility?

We held space to guide participants through Visio Divina — the ancient practice of prayerful seeing — centered on Kerry James Marshall's "Now and Forever" windows, which replaced Confederate iconography with a vision of justice and healing.

We practiced unhurried, prayerful seeing together. Because reconciliation isn't only public work. It's spiritual formation.

This AAPI Heritage Month, we honor the millions of AAPI Christ-followers committed to the work of healing, justice, and belonging.

We celebrate the voice of Makoto Fujimura, an artist, author, and theologian whose work invites us into a deeper imagination for justice and beauty. Fujimura reminds us that Godly dreaming is not escapism; it is a courageous act of faith, one that moves us toward the borders and margins where good news is most needed. May his words stir something in us, a renewed call to carry the gospel into the imprisoned places of our world, trusting that liberation and flourishing are still the promise of God.

Spiritual formation is not accidental. We are all being formed by our habits, our pace, our media, our wounds.

Spiritual practices are how we intentionally cooperate with the Spirit, becoming people of love, justice, humility, and courage.

“Reading Scripture is not the same as being formed by it.”

Scripture has always had something to say about justice. From the first pages of Genesis to the last pages of Revelation, God's heart for shalom, for wholeness, repair, and right relationship, runs through the entire biblical story.

A People, A Place, & A Just Society is Arrabon's app-based small group Bible study that takes your community deep into that story. In two four-week sessions, you'll engage daily Scripture and devotionals, gather weekly with your group, and be equipped to pursue Christ-likeness in the areas of justice and peace building.

Reconciliation is spiritual formation. This resource was made to ground your community in both.

This week, on our latest Experiential Learning Journey to Montgomery, AL, we visited the Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth, and Reconciliation. We’re honored to bear witness to the past and present faithfulness of this place and the justice-seekers who have walked its roads.

Follow to keep up with the good work they’re doing. If you are interested in joining us on a future journey, find more info at arrabon.com/experience or the link in our bio.
