💚🏠 NOVEMBER IS RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH AWARENESS MONTH!

Every young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued. Yet, far too many youth face the uncertainty of homelessness, housing instability, and unsafe living situations.

At WAIT House, we see firsthand the challenges young people face, but we also see their incredible strength, resilience, and determination to build brighter futures.

💚 JOIN US IN WEARING GREEN ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH! 💚

We're inviting our staff, community partners, families, and supporters to wear GREEN as we come together to raise awareness and show our support for youth experiencing homelessness.

Why GREEN? Green represents hope, strength, and awareness, three things we strive to bring to the young people we serve every single day.

Whether you're at work, at school, or out in the community, wearing green is a simple but meaningful way to stand alongside these young people and remind them that they are not alone.

📸 WE WANT TO SEE YOUR GREEN! Wear green on November 5th, snap a photo, and share it with us! Let's fill our community with GREEN and show our youth just how many people are standing behind them!

Because every young person deserves more than a place to stay. They deserve a place to belong, opportunities to grow, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.

🎃👻 HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM WAIT HOUSE! 🧡

What a SPOOKTACULAR time we had at our Halloween Party!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for an afternoon filled with costumes, treats, laughter, and Halloween fun! It was wonderful seeing so many families, children, and community members come together to celebrate. We loved seeing all the creative costumes and smiling faces!

As everyone heads out for trick-or-treating tonight, WAIT House wants to share a few friendly reminders to help keep our community safe! 🧡

🎃 Halloween Safety Tips:

🔸Be Seen: Wear bright colors, reflective accessories, or carry a flashlight.
🔸Stay Together: Young children should always be accompanied by a trusted adult.
🔸Cross Safely: Use sidewalks and crosswalks, and watch carefully for traffic.
🔸Check Those Treats: Have an adult inspect candy before enjoying it.

Stay Alert: Drivers, please slow down and watch for little ghosts and goblins!

Most importantly, have FUN, look out for one another, and help make Halloween a safe and memorable night for everyone!

Throughout October, WAIT House is proud to be the beneficiary of the Hannaford Fight Hunger Bag Program at the South Glens Falls location!

For every $2.50 reusable Fight Hunger Bag purchased, $1 will be donated directly to WAIT House, helping us continue supporting youth and families in our community.

What an amazing turnout for WAIT House's 2025–2026 Annual Meeting: Year in Review!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our Board of Directors, community partners, supporters, and members of our community who joined us yesterday evening. It was wonderful to come together, reflect on another year of meaningful impact, share some good food, and celebrate everything we've accomplished together!

While our Annual Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on numbers, accomplishments, and the impact of our programs, Executive Director Jason McLaughlin made it a point to recognize something that can't be measured by statistics: the HEART behind WAIT House. 💚

He took the time to highlight our incredible staff and the dedication, compassion, and commitment each person brings to our mission every single day.

The work we do isn't always easy. Our staff face challenging situations, respond to crises, and support young people and families navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. We meet individuals where they are, without judgment, and work alongside them as they take steps toward stability, independence, and hope.

Behind every number is a person. And behind every service we provide is someone who genuinely cares.

That's what makes WAIT House so special. It's not just the programs we offer or the milestones we reach. It's the people who show up every day, lead with compassion, and pour their hearts into making a difference.

We are incredibly proud of what we've accomplished this past year, but even more proud of the people who make it all possible.

To our staff, Board of Directors, community partners, and everyone who continues to believe in and support our mission, THANK YOU!

We're excited to welcome our community this afternoon for our 2025–2026 Annual Meeting: Year in Review!

It's been a year of growth, accomplishments, and meaningful impact, and we can't wait to share it with YOU!

Here's just a glimpse of what we've accomplished together this past year:

▪️ 1,568 individuals served across WAIT House programs
▪️ 11,861 services provided to individuals and families in our community
▪️ 4,639 bed nights providing shelter and stability
▪️ 144 individuals successfully housed, taking important steps toward a brighter future

And that's only part of the story! 💚

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a story of resilience, hope, and new beginnings. Tonight, we'll celebrate those stories, recognize our dedicated staff, highlight our programs, and share what's ahead for WAIT House.

The Adirondack Runners invite you to join their annual Reindeer Run 5K, a festive holiday tradition bringing runners, families, and community members together to make a difference!
