The World Awareness Children's Museum is thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with The Hyde Collection for this year’s “Beyond the Exhibit” summer series. Now in its third year, “Beyond the Exhibit” expands the museum’s mission to teach children about different cultures around the world through engaging, family-friendly cultural performances. This year, three performances will take place at The Hyde Collection on select dates in July after a successful two-year stint at the Charles R. Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls.
The 2026 lineup is as follows:
𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟬: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝘇𝘇 | 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟬 - 𝟭𝟭:𝟯𝟬𝗔𝗠
“Place” takes the original music of Heard and brings the audience somewhere special and distinct in each piece – like the crowded bustle of an Accra open-air market (Market Song), a winding wintry boulevard in Montreal (Cotes des Neiges) or the summer streets of Brazil (Danca Verao). Through narrative storytelling around compositional inspirations, the audience will explore cultural, geographical, and environmental dimensions of other countries and places.
𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟳: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲: 𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲-𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗶𝗴𝗣𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗼. | 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟬 - 𝟭𝟭:𝟯𝟬𝗔𝗠
Join PigPen Theatre Co. (writers of Broadway's Water for Elephants) for an immersive, interactive musical adventure where the audience helps shape what happens next. Blending international and Americana folk traditions with shadow puppetry, live music, and imaginative storytelling, this “choose your own adventure” performance invites audiences of all ages to become part of the story, working together to guide a brave folk hero on their journey home.
𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟯𝟭: 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗯𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 | 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟬 - 𝟭𝟭:𝟯𝟬𝗔𝗠
