The Southern Adirondack Child Care Network had a very special surprise visit yesterday from Charlie, a certified therapy dog!

Charlie is a handsome good boy who filled our hearts and shared lots of snuggles and tail wags!! You may have seen Charlie and Erin around our Community spreading his love and cuddles. Charlie has made many visits to the Glens Falls Hospital visiting patients and staff and even loves to be read to by children at the Crandall Library!

We would like to thank Erin and Charlie for visiting and for ALL that they do! 🥰

NEW BUSINESS FOR THE NEW YEAR? FUNDING AVAILABLE TO OPEN HOME-BASED CHILD CARE BUSINESSES

Our region needs more child care options for working families, and funding is available to assist residents of Warren County who would like to open home-based childcare businesses.

Southern Adirondack Child Care Network (SACCN) has joined forces with Warren County Department of Workforce Development to administer a program that provides funding and assistance with training to open new home-based childcare centers.

Warren County residents who are interested in applying for funding can call Warren County Career Center at 518-743-0925 or Southern Adirondack Child Care Network at 518-798-7972. See the attached flyer for more details as well.

FOOD ASSISTANCE FOR CHILDREN AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER

New York's new Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) program helps families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families that qualify can receive up to $120 in food benefits for each eligible child, starting July 1.

Eligible children will receive Summer EBT food benefits on an EBT card. Families can use their Summer EBT food benefits to buy food like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, and dairy at authorized retail food stores, farmers markets, and anywhere else SNAP is accepted.
