Having a seat at the table for our local families! 🏛️🤝💛

Last month, our CEO Amy Van Polen attended Congressman Sean Casten’s Cost of Housing Roundtable to discuss one of the most critical challenges facing our area today.

We are grateful to Congressman Casten for inviting us and for letting local community voices be heard. During the roundtable, leaders discussed the pressing effects that rising housing costs are having on families throughout our communities.

Having a seat at the table allows us to advocate directly for the parents and children we serve, share the real-life hurdles our families face, and champion long-term solutions for housing stability in DuPage County 💛

This October, our Associate Board gathered at Maplewood for a fun Halloween Social and board meeting!

We were so grateful to be joined by our Associate Director of the Children's Program, Michelle Stasi, who led a wonderful conversation about the life-changing impact of our children's programs and the kids we serve across DuPage County.
We appreciate our Associate Board members so much as they are always thinking of ways to get more involved and are excited to roll up their sleeves and volunteer at our upcoming children's holiday party!

We wrapped up the night with delicious light appetizers, drinks, and trivia! Thank you to everyone on our Associate Board for bringing your energy, dedication, and passion to our mission all year round. 💛

Tayler is a healthcare executive and advisor with nearly 20 years of experience leading workforce strategy, value-based care growth, and organizational scaling. Her connection to Bridge Communities is already well established with her service on our Development Committee, annual holiday celebrations, and supported community-building events like our Mahjong gatherings.

Happy Feel Good Friday! Client M signed her closing papers earlier this month and officially purchased her very own townhome!

Reflecting on the story she shared at our Opening New Doors celebration, it is incredible to see how far her hard work, perseverance, and dedication have carried her family💛. With support from Bridge Communities and Huntington National Bank, client M stepped into full independence and a permanent home of her own.

Her journey proves that when local families are given safety, mentorship, and economic opportunity, long-term stability and homeownership are well within reach. Congratulations, client M, you did it!

While national trends show literal homelessness decreasing, housing insecurity in our local suburban community is reaching critical levels due to steep rent inflation and a shortage of affordable housing.
