Nothing makes summer more magic than fireflies. How can we encourage more of them? We are looking forward to this!

They light up our summer evenings and create a sense of wonder and awe. Join Jennifer Rydzewski, Xerces Society Ambassador, to explore the world of fireflies, their life histories, threats, and simple actions you can take to help conserve them. The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation is an international nonprofit organization that protects the natural world through the conservation of invertebrates and their habitats.

• Learn a renewable method of environmentally friendly farming that was practiced by the Native Americans for centuries.
• Watch the garden you create grow and produce corn, beans and squash (known by Native Americans as the 3 sisters).
• Help add to an ancient heirloom seedbank.
• Create a living STEM classroom comparing an indigenous and settler’s way of farming.
