Carry the Story with Renew

Carry the Story with Renew Renew cultivates a community of peace, dignity, and creativity where refugee women flourish.

Re:new is a nonprofit organization that provides training, employment, and community for refugee women resettled in the United States. We are a team of over 40 women volunteers, staff, and Artisans working together to design and market handcrafted products as we create a space for refugee women to thrive. Through our Artisan Development programs and Care services, we create a space for refugee wom

en to thrive in two ways:
(1) by offering vocational training and employment in creating quality handbags and accessory items using upcycled fabrics, providing sustainable income;
(2) by offering a flexible work environment based on dignity, respect, peace, kindness, gentleness, creativity and fun, we foster a community of emotional support so that refugee women can begin to heal from past trauma, recapture hope for the present, and reconnect to dreams for their future. Re:new is a unique work-space where women laugh much, work hard, and often sing while creating beautiful handmade marketable products. By investing in both the professional and personal development of every Artisan employed by Re:new, we provide a foundation for achieving success as they adjust to rebuilding their lives in the United States.

Tomorrow is World Refugee Day. 🌍

A day to honor the courage, resilience, and stories of refugees around the world.

At Renew, we believe every refugee woman has a story worth carrying.

Today you get to hear Rugaya’s.

Her story reflects what can happen when women find community, support, and opportunity.

Because of generous supporters like you, we’ve already raised more than $15,000 through our Stitches of Hope Campaign.

Our new stretch goal is $20,000 by tomorrow!

Behind every stitch is a community of support.

At Renew, refugee women find more than job training. They find a welcoming community, opportunities to learn and grow, meaningful employment, and a place where they are known and valued.

As part of our Stitches of Hope World Refugee Day campaign, we’re sharing what different giving levels make possible—from hospitality and programming to employment and sustaining the space where women gather and create.

Every gift, no matter the size, helps build a community where refugee women can rebuild their lives with dignity, peace, and creativity.

💛 Ready to make an impact? Visit the link in our bio to give.

📣 Not able to give today? You can still help by sharing this post with a friend and helping us spread the word.

Together, we’re stitching hope into every story.

In 2024 we paused when everything felt uncertain.
We reimagined Renew from the ground up.

In 2025, we’re seeing what happens when you say yes —
to starting over, to listening, to building with intention.

It really does change everything.

We’re so grateful for what’s unfolding at Renew — more students, more artisans, and a renewed vision for the future.

This Christmas season, we celebrate the birth of Christ and give thanks for the beauty of community, the dignity of meaningful work, and the stories carried in every handmade piece.

Because of your support, refugee women are finding belonging, creativity, and hope.

From all of us at Renew, thank you for being part of this story. Merry Christmas and peace to you and your loved ones.
