Please call the Leavenworth Board of County Commissioners at (913) 684-0417.
Tell them to permanently kill any future permits for events at 16819 Lenape Rd, Linwood, KS...which is where this abuse occurred.

Steve Hindi, President of SHARK, joins Lisa Dent to discuss what backyard rodeos are and how animals are being abused at these events. SHARK is a Geneva-based investigative group that uses drones obtain video and expose different rings committing animal abuse. They then take the evidence to the authorities for them to review. These backyard rodeos take livestock and overwork them, shock them, and in severe cases, rip the tails off of the steer. While Steve has commended authorities for responding quickly to video evidence, there is still a general lack of enforcement of animal abuse laws in the area.

Called "steer tailing," or coleadero in Spanish given its Mexican roots, activists and some political figures say the practice amounts to animal abuse and needs to stop. Three men charged with animal cruelty after one of the events last year were sentenced in a far northwest suburban courtroom…
