🌱🍂 Fall Day of Caring: Garden Edition! 🍂🌱

What a beautiful day to wrap up another growing season at Batavia Apartments!

Our group may have been small, but it was definitely mighty! 💪 We got so much accomplished in just a few hours—from the final harvest and pulling spent plants to tackling weeds and laying down additional mulch to help protect the garden through the winter.

There’s something pretty special about seeing a project come full circle. We started this garden together in the spring, and now we’ve closed out the season with one last day of teamwork, fresh air, and community.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to get their hands dirty and help make this garden—and this community—a little better. 💚

Scroll through the photos and video to see our crew in action!

This is what Day of Caring is all about: showing up, pitching in, and making a difference together.

Looks like fall out there! Bat Race is just around the corner and we are celebrating some of our sponsors and longtime runners this month! Thanks so much - Holzl Homes!

"Holzl Homes proudly supports Bat Race and Batavia United Way because we believe strong communities are built by neighbors helping neighbors. Giving back to the place we live, work and serve is at the heart of who we are as a real estate team. Community is everything!"

🎉 FIVE YEARS OF IMPACT. $750,000 INVESTED IN BATAVIA. 🎉

We are incredibly excited to share our new Batavia United Way 5-Year Impact Report!

Over the past five years, we have invested more than $750,000 into programs and initiatives serving Batavia residents—supporting everything from early learning and youth opportunity to food security, financial security, healthy communities, and community resiliency.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Behind that $750,000 are local organizations doing incredible work, volunteers showing up, donors investing in their community, businesses stepping forward, and neighbors helping neighbors.

And that is what we are most proud of. We don't do this work alone. We do it together.

As we look toward our 100th anniversary in 2028, we're taking a moment to celebrate how far we've come—and look ahead to all that we can accomplish together in the years to come.

📖 Read our 5-Year Impact Report:https://bataviaunitedway.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/5-Year-Impact-Report.pdf

Thank you, Batavia, for being part of the story. 💙

🌧️ Mother Nature has other plans! 🌧️

Due to the forecasted rain, we are rescheduling our Fall Day of Caring at Batavia Apartments to Monday, October 5, from 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

We’ll be back in the community garden to help with the final harvest, fall cleanup, mulching, and giving the trees a deep watering before winter. 🌱🍂

And there’s still time to join us! Grab a friend, coworker, or neighbor and come lend a hand. No gardening experience needed—just a willingness to get a little dirty and have some fun!
